does anyone know any trick to repair plastic panels,,???
I located a brand new side panel,, and it was shipped piss poorly and as a result the extreme top corner (right above the 3 screw holes at the top where the right side panel mounts to the upper fairing),, its about an inch triangle shape,, and fits back like a puzzle piece,, is there an epoxy or something that you guys know of that i can attach the piece with??

That Hurts! 3 types of glue, One that melts the 2 pieces and joins them together (like super Glue). 1 that is an Adhesive that sticks the pieces together but is a little flexible (Like 3M Adhesive Glue) 3, SOmething that can stick to the part and make a hard bond between them (Like slow acting JB Weld!)
I have tried them all! I would suggest finding a ABS Plastic glue that melts the plastic in the joining process! Glue the pieces and Pressure them together and put take over the seam to keep the glue in place until dry.

i wasnt the seller fault (to an extent),, he brought the panel to a UPS store in the factory box that he got from Kawasaki,, along with a piece of plastic,,and a cotton lines wrap,, they took the panel and said they would take it from there,, and all they did was throw it in the box! not even bubble wrap or peanuts and shipped it,, as cold as it is in Massachusettes right now it probably got thrown around and chipped the top (about an inch chunk),, brand friggin new!! suxs gonna try and work something out ,, he has contacted me and he is checking into it.. we will see..

Uh........You can repair it but it will still have to be finished and painted after the repair to make it go away. Being brand new i would contact the seller and see if you all can come to an arrangment. I would charge something like 100-150 to repair something like that, with no garauntee it will break again being on an edge or corner that mates up to another. I use Duramix 4040-4050 smc and plastic repair. You will also need a special gun and mixing tips. Like I said get another peice. Sorry that sucks.

Go to a wholesale autobody repair products (Auto Paint) store and ask for Chem Weld (CW-2) by Kent Products. It's a 2 part epoxy that is specially formulated for repairing SMC and ABS panels like air dams and DOT bumpers. Not sold in normal "consumer" stores. It works perfectly for fixing bodywork damage like you have. It stick the joint together and you then put a layer on the inside for strength. Doug

No matter who you use to fix it (Kent, Fusor, SEM, Duramix, Evercoat) it will still have to be finished and repainted. I work for a PPG platinum distributor as a tech rep. Doug is correct in saying you can only get these products at a automotive paint store. Most of the manufactures stated will use a product specific application gun for the smc and abs repair material. The guns are not cost effective for a one time use.

If you can live with the defect on the outside ("like a puzzle piece") the Chem Weld goo will hold it together from the back and you won't need to repaint. It comes in a toothpaste tube sized container.
