Kawasaki WAY Behind!!!!!!!!!
There are now 1800cc busa's that are watercooled and streetable. This makes me very disappointed in the zx12. Why would kawasaki make the bike so "space" limited where the motor dimensions are concerned. You would think that they KNOW that WE are going to want to increase piston and stroke sizes, so why not just add an "INCH" to the width and depth and give more space between the cylinders so we can have the room to expand like the suzuki!!! We are not competive on the street when they are making over 250hp on motor........NO NITROUS!!!

If "250 h.p." is so "usefull" on the street, why doesent moto GP use more than 190-200 h.p. in their race bikes?!
In the real world, most street chassis and tire combo's can not utilize much more than the magic 190 h.p.#
I see turbo busas out here that can't be driven to their potential either by rider skill or simply burning the rear tire down the road!
Shure you can set up a bike to run that kind of power in a strait line and use it, but it would be useless any other way.
Besides, the Muzzy drag bikes seem to compete very well at the displacement they are at!
I don't see an 1800 busa living for very long anyway......

If you want an engine that big, why not drop a civic 1.8 vtec engine into your 12 chassis?

I am a little bit confused? A little over 6 months ago, I went to Kawasaki.com and made my way to motorcycle accessories and picked up my factory kit and had it installed by the local dealer. The Kawasaki big bore stroker kit took my 12 out to just over 2000 c.c.
It idles butter smooth, the dyno number were / are 304 horsepower with 164 ft.lbs of torque. And it runs on premiuim unleaded. It doesn't hunt even with my Muzzy exhaust. And the kit includes an oversized radiator to take care of the added cooling needed.
I would highly recomend the factory big bore stroker kit.

There is really a kit from the factory that will pump a stock 12 up to 2000cc's??
And the dealer will put it on also? Will this void the warranty on the bike?
Any difference that you can tell by just looking at the 12? How much did it cost you?

Damn it! I let the cat out of the bag and now I won't be able to pick an extra kit up for my other bike.

All this is funny until you try to build a non-nitrous motor to make hp like the busa's and you can't get enough "displacement", and the cam degree numbers available only enhance the low end torque.
I don't want a suzuki, but I am envious of the R&D for the motor. I would like the enhancement room in our bikes too!
I would also like some better cam degree number info,,,,Like a comparable dyno sheet of the different settings.....I bet that 7's zx12 that Ricky rides is not set to 105/100!!!!!
I would like to be competitive in the 60" class. A nitrous turbo solid block with wheelie bars is not streetable...............so folks like Psycho you should line up at a redlight against a stroked busa and then post your results. Motor hp is very controlable in case that is your excuse about why you don't need it!
Question Muzzy's:
1)For your 1400cc motors what do you set your cams to.....?!
2)Are you using stock OEM cams?!
3)What is the hp that your 1400cc motors are making?!

Rumor from the informer's is, Why they have only 150 unit's left is. The big bore kit is being decreased to 1998 cc's the stroke, but Kawi is adding factory NOS system. And it come's with an extended warranty. Due out fall of 2002,
Visa Mastercard excepted at all dealer's.

I have a friend out here w/ a 1500 EyeAbusa and he generates a conservative 205 h.p. That's a real world #.
I'm talking about riding in more than a strait line. I would like to see any of these high powered machines pull out of a 30 mph corner w/o a traction problem, you better have some excellent throttle control!!
Stroker busa w/ stock wheelbase full on? I'm not too worried about that....sounds like a smokin tire or a wheelie machine to me!

Cubic inches and or CCs is hard to argue with. Kawi was trying to keep the package small and narrow. And most of the premier engine builders always ask the factory engineers to let them have the ability to build the stock motor 10% bigger. Gives them a chance to make money and power. The 12 does that, but it was never intended to make it 25% bigger.
My 1361 is plenty of ccs and the controling factor at the strip is my skill not the bikes.

Okay Psycho, i will give you your moment,,,,i too would NOT want more torque (hp okay) if I was doing heavy twisties. As spin out would be a serious reality. With the right rider however, i would bet that over a long period of time, that the straights between the corners would win out for a motor bike. Cause I know that a busa or zx12 can perform in the twisties "real well".........it is mostly a rider issue.

Oh Yeah! Don't get me wrong! Torque'n the twisties is where the 1270 is awsome! Blackies out of 170 mph sweepers is quite a thrill also, if I had "MORE" h.p. I would not put it to good use.
