ATTN -SWFT OR 1270 USERS
I have a question about the 1270 kit you had on your bike,is it worth it,is it reliable or was you riding or racing the bike real hard because im am probably like you and just cant get enough power even though the bike is fast stock and that's what mine is bone-stock,or do you think i will be satisfied with the mzy full ti and pc3r i would really like your input or anybody that had this kit done 2 there bike.

Jesus! Was that really all one sentence?

Hell yes, the 1270 is worth it. It's by far the best bang for the buck. Stock, yer making somewhere between 158 - 162 hp at the back tire, and your peak torque figure is around 89 lb/ft of torque. The 1270 will take that to 195hp and 106 lb/ft of torque, if you buy a complete powerup package from Muzzys. That gives you the power to utterly demolish any other bike you are likely to run across, unless it's another Muzzy equipped bike.

I put over 16000 miles on my bike, and the 1270 kit gave me ZERO problems. I did lunch the motor, but that was due to an oiling problem, not the 1270 kit per se.

Bone stock isn't bad. I don't know if you have an 00/01 or an 02, because there is definately a difference in the way those two motors make power. There's lots of ways to make power, and the way you go do it is going to be determined by what you want and how much you want to spend.

The first thing you are going to notice about the muzzy full Ti system is the great sound. Then, if you ride the twisties, you'll notice a distinct lack of heft. So that aftermarket exhaust can lead you down one of two paths, one being straight and fast, the other being twisty and full of interesting suprises. With an overall weight reduction of approx 60 lbs, I chose to get the most weight off the bike I could. That being said, I took the other road with a second 12, and built it strictly for the straight line, with a slick and wheelie bars before returning it to stock condition.

Don't expect 195hp or you will be SEVERELY disappointed. Expect if you use Muzzy's suggestions a very strong zx12 that is faster and more torque than stock. To get 25 hp out of 70cc is not easy......

you get 174 out of it with just the pipe, pc3, timing advance. the 70 cc's kit give you about 20 more rwhp.
lots of people on the board have posted their dyno sheets.

ditto, in spades!!!!
That said, if you have a "happy dyno" around, be happy with it because you can post happy dyno hp curves, and get those BIG hp numbers.

I have a 02 model. What are the differences between my 12 and the 00/01 models, referring to the differences in the way the motors make power????

Is anyone using a dry shot with the 1270 kit? What horsepower, torque, e.t. , mph are you getting. Trying to decide what's the safe range for the Nitrous on the 1270.
Doug?
Thanks,

After you ride a 1270 with a pipe and pwer commander the stock 12 seems pretty sedate!!
Definitly a reliable horsepower boost!

Hulkster, if you are going with the "connect the dots" muzzy kit then go for the 1361......it is really not that much more money but you do get more!!! And we NEEEEEEED it!!!
If anyone is planning on going "BUSA KILLING" you better get the 1361 minimal and then get your cams right!!! The 1270 is really only impressive against stock bikes. It is not impressive against a motor that is 1464cc with pistons only......
As long as your expectations are "realistic" about the zx12 capabilities, you will be very happy. Me, I am trying to get the zx12 to a level that is exceedingly competitive against built Suzuki's!!!
I wish I had some help with information.....hint MUZZY"S!!!
