Whats the best grips out there for your 12?
Sometimes my hands get soar on the stock grips of the 12, with or without gloves. So what does everyone recommend to use to replace the grips as far as maximum comfort level?
I've seen some heated grips on a Busa but I didnt like those. I just want something thats soft, good grip of course, and my palms and hands wont feel soar after riding.
Pics are welcome to of course, unless everyone just has their stocks still on.

Grips...smips..
Beans...If your grips are uncomfortable, then you should buy a new pair of gloves. You shouldn't even think of riding without gloves.
When you fall, the first thing you do is try to break your fall. So your hands jusy naturally go down.
Did you know that your hands are probably your most important tool. Try to make a living without your hands.
Do yourself a favour. Use gloves. Get a ventilated pair for hot weather. -ZXtra

I totally agree. Even wearing my TourMaster All-Season gloves, which are thickly padded, still reach a point where comfort is an issue. I do have a summer pair which is cooler, but still not comfortable.
What kind of gloves do you use?

Re: gloves
Right now I'm using a pair of Spyke leather gloves with the hard armor over the knuckles similar to these...

There are some rain gloves that "breath" very well for hot weather. Inexpensive too.
I seldom have to deal with the 100 deg temperatures that the southern guys have to deal with so I don't have much of a problem with heat. Gloves are kind of a fashion statement for me and I am a poser (Ha! Ha!) so I like to have a few around. My friends have the Technics with the chrome armor. Very nice! -ZXtra

Beansbaxter, no one has answered your question, so I will. Gel grips are good but BMW K model grips are actually better

hand pressure
Try gripping the tank with your knees and moving your weight back. Sounds like you have too much weight on your hands.

I totally do just that to alleviate pressure from the hands. It's also not so bad when I'm laying down on my tank on long rides.
But sometimes I do just like to sit up on the bike and there is some pressure on the ole hands that I would like to dampen up if possible.

When you order the grips, do they come in pairs???
And if not, since one side is different than the other, do they know to give you one of each side if you order 2??

They come as a pair
You'll have to cut out the centers of the grip ends. You'll also need to make sure that the grip on the trottle side doesn't interfer with the bar weight. Use plenty of grip glue, but be careful not to use so much on the throttle's plastic that it oozes onto the bar. If possible, consult with some motocross riders on how they do it, since they change grips often. Everybody has their own personal tricks to putting on grips.
Once you get the grips and your still not too sure, just post a new thread about grip installation and I'm sure you'll get a lot of good replies. Of course, that's assuming that you haven't done it before. If you have, nevermind.

Thanks for the really good advice there. No, I've never done it before so I'm learning a lot here. Thanks again; it is appreciated.
