i was recently test riding a 1394cc ape stroker (12r) doing top speed runs back to back, with a stock shimmed clutch, there were no overheating problems at all and power every fucking where...get it done..

Seth - That's more than likely what will be done once it's time to freshen up my 1287. Thank you for sharing your personal experience with the 1393!

do yourself a favor and pick up a cheap damaged crank to get stroked.
Just in case you need to go back.

Or a cheap undamaged crank. Sometimes, the cracks in the journals are too deep to repair.

If you don't start with a low time, good crank, pay to have it magnafluxed before you stroke it. Cheap insurance.

Thanks for the info, Doug and Y2k! I appreciate it!

btw Doug, I never said anything about moving the powerband higher to make use of the RPM's. The rpm's serve a different purpose entirely.

can someone explain this one plz?

Yeah, I had my tranny gears magnafluxed by R&D. If anything else, it's good for piece of mind.

One thing I've learned, you don't take chances with internals.

My 1361 has never over heated, but when the engine is warm, it's a crap shoot whether or not the starter will turn her over. Several times, I've had to wait for the engine to cool before she would start.
The last time was particularly annoying. I was out riding the twisties with some buds, and the lead bike couldn't make a corner, and ended up in a cow pasture. We all ran to help; only his ego was bruised. However, my bike refused to start, and we all had to wait 1/2 hour before she'd fire up.
There are fixes for the starting issue.

i have a buddy with a huge engine in his busa. mussy also built it. he had tha same problem. wouldnt start when its warm. due to the large pistons and compression, they simply added a second battery....... now starts up faster than anything.

had the 1375 for a while but now run a stock crank, bringing it down to 1270. to solve the hot start problem when she was a stroker i did a 24v conversion. very happy with the 1270, but i do miss the 1375 setup.

where did you get your crank from ,muzzy?
