I got my bike weighed right before I did the teresi dyno drags, and they said 685 with me on it, I weigh about 160 leaving the bike at 525lbs. So thats with a little over half a tank, thats also with some other minor mods including a full ti exhaust, pig spotters, and an undertail.

On a digital COOP scale back home, my '00 zx12R weighed in at 540lbs with a full tank of gas. The scale works in 20lb incriments, so i'm guessing the bike is somewhere between 530-540

I was a little off (maybe the scales were off 1st time I measured?)

At the shop I weighed the 12, about 460ish....

Then at the drag strip yesterday it weighed 465 (Rounds to the nearest 5 lbs), with me on it the scales showed 695!

Woohoo....I beat nox! j/k

My bike weighed in at 558 lb's all stock and full of fuel at my works digital scales.

I'm impressed how shipteey and NOX got there cycles so light. I've done alot of things to shave weight and my bike is now down to 518 lb's or about 40 lb's lighter.
Would you fellas care to share your light weight savings with us.

Heres mine:
1. marchesini wheels 7 lb's lighter than stock (front, rear weighed with all accesories)
2. light weight sprockets 1 1/2 pound?
3. step hindle exhaust 9-10 lb's lighter?
4. no counterbalancer and crank lightened by (ape ) 5 lb's?
5. removed 1 horn, all reflectors and trimmed rear fender.
6. cut out foam and lightened bracket for rear seat.
7. replaced bar ends, footpegs, exhaust hanger with lighter aluminum
8. light weight galfer rear rotor
9. ceramic wheel bearings, tranny bearings, lightened rods, je pistons (falicon knifed edged)
10. Smaller turn signals, integrated rear signals
11. no tool kit, aluminum kickstand

Thoughts for a lighter bike
a. plastic or carbon fiber gas tank?
b. smaller battery
c. aftermarket body work( how much does the stock bodywork weigh compared to aftermarket)
d.lighter wheels bst's
e. remove 2nd horn
f. lose 20 lb's off of self
g.

Here is what I did:

Carbon fiber wheels (12+ pounds)
636 Rear rotor
Muzzy full TI system
Airtech front upper fairing (saved 7 since there are no headlights)
No mirrors
No signals
Hacked rear fender
splash of fuel
drag step seat
removed rear seat & taped the cowl to the tail (both stock seats were 7 pound)
removed passenger pegs, left bracket
removed rubber on footpegs, screws that hold them, and feelers
no horns
pirelli tires
1 nos bottle w/lines.

465 lbs. Looking to get to 450...nox has taken it a step further!
