Mirror Replacements

I am looking for some good advice:

I knocked my 2000 zx12 over and damaged the right side mirror. Are there any good aftermarket mirrors out there yet? The local salvage yard wants $80 for a replacement mirror!--Seems a little steep to me.

I am greatful for any help you can provide.

Derek

If I recall, someone once said mirrors off a ZX7 will fit the 12. Not 100% sure, but check it out. Cost was significantly less for the 7 vs. 12 mirrors. I thought 12 mirros were $88 new, so $80 sounds real steep.

Just a thought, but you could use it as an exscuse to get some aftermarket racing style mirrors instead of the OEM ones.

Yep, right around 50 bucks for a ZX-7 mirror. They look better and adjust easier. It was the first mod to my bike.

My question is, how good do they work? Better or worse than the stockers?

Better, Dave..or they wouldn't be there. Function first, then form. I like a little of both.

Billet Mirror Covers...

The Mirror covers are $59.95 for the pair... Once you get use to having no mirrors and just looking back to check traffic, that is a nice way to save money and change the look of the 12!!!

bar end mirrors? Is this related to the ongoing story on the 12's selling like hotcakes post?

You might consider staying away from bars!

My question is how did you manage to get away with such little damage? When mine fell over on the left side it was $1200!!!!
