Extended ECU Testing

Threw it on today....(thanks 13killa!)....gearing is 17/46....got out on the hwy....revved it up high in 4th gear....eyed the tach....

About 12.7-12.8k on the rev limiter...hit it twice for good measure so the GPS would register

163 MPH!!!

I'll throw on the stock ecu and test out the stock rev limiter in 4th just to see.

200 rpms shy of the 13 mark on the tach...time for the 6R tach, hahaa

ship,
did you ever doubt it???

I have brought my rpm up to 12.1k (real) or so many times on the dyno using the DaveO modd'd ECU. I'd prefer to use the RR reprogramed ECU, but for a lil bit longer the clock mod does the trick.

Supra, I think its the clock crystal mod...not sure what that is. Bought it from 13killa on 12org. I like it because the gearing helps offset going -1 up front. Busas are (on paper) geared for 163 at the end of 4th (stock gearing). I will test the difference in MPH w/this gearing and the stock ECU hopefully by tomorrow.

Karl, never doubted it, but I bought the ecu used, and the seller I don't think had it that high, so I had to test it and didn't want to just go with what the tach showed (figured there was a snowball's chance in hell that it could show the tach higher but not have actually raised the real RPM...hey....you never know....and I'm sure its fine now, but nothing like a little real world proof w/GPS so people can see the physical actual differences in MPH per gear....

Knowing it can go 163 in 4th, I'm going from 17/46 to 16/44 soon, should be good for about 160 give or take...perfect if I go w/the 60 shot as 155 is the best mph I've seen in the 1/4. I think I can go 156 or low 157 with full double bottles in the 1/4 on a cool day w/a 40 shot though....

Going to the strip in 2 weekends....would like to see 9.5s n/a stock wheelbase and spray it to 9.3s!

ya I have the same mod.. the only thing is, is that the injector pulse is shortened by 5% leaning out the mixture..

by how much a/f-wise? Is is detrimental in my set-up? I run pig rich off spray so I should be fine, even w/the small shot. Getting a data aq too. I do have the muzzy fuel pump now...duty cycle on a 40 shot maxed out at 80% @ right before the stock rev limiter on the dyno. I'll have to remember to fill out the next fuel cell in the pc3 now that it goes higher, although I think I already did in anticipation of this ecu.

Iv'e been running it for a couple of years now... Does indeed extend the rev limiter, but it shortens the injector pulse by 5 %.. So now your running 5% LEANER everywhere all the time.. a bandaid would be to add 5 % more fuel to the PC3
