4th gear ECM input? Or mabey 3rd?
I would like to re-wire my gear selector to keep all the extra fuel that seems to be added in 4th, 5th, and 6th from running stinking rich. I know that this has been posted previously, but could someone please re-post the link to this problem. What is the general concencus on this problem? Just wire the input to the ECM as 4th gear in all gears? Does someone have a simple diagram? This enrichment may be good for maxton, but for dragracing it seems like I go from a nice 13.6 AF all the way down to 12.8 depending on what gear I'm in. Sorry for the re-post of info. Thanks.

I recommend sending your ECM to Ridge Racer and have him program exactly what you want...

If you don't mind me asking but isn't 12.8 to 1 A/F good? Brock Davidson ran 201 mph in the 1 mile at Maxton with 12.91 to 1...

Everyone has an AF that they tune for depending on logger, etc. The problem is if I tuned for 13 AF in 5th, then it would be 14:1 in 1,2,3. Almost a whole point is way too much of a comprimise. I generally shoot for 13.5 on motor and 12.9 on spray. Does anyone recall the post that had the wiring mods? Ridge Racer's mod sounds great, but I'm not smart enough to know exactly what I want.

I don't know that I'm ready at this point to make intelligent recommendations on how to modify the ECU gear map values.
In the mean time here is a schematic for making the ECU think its always in 4th gear, except for neutral. The modification can actually be done on either side of the connector. Just make sure the gear selector side wires are connected together and the ECU side wires are left open (I would tape up the ends so they don't ground out)
