Wolf, any specific year zx9r? We have 2 of the 98-99s here @ the shop, 1 2000 model. How much weight savings can one expect?
Right side heel guard...not sure if its required for maxton....left may not be considering there is a metal chain guard there.
Drilling the rotors, while it has crossed my mind....isn't exactly that "easy"...and I think one may need to take structural integrity issues into account?
Warp, ti hanger sounds good if it ain't too pricey.
My new goal is to get to 420 pounds...= to my buddy's new 07 gixxer 1000 w/ a slip on and frame sliders!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Removing the nitrous bottles of course will save up to 15 pounds w/lines.

I have drilled mine......
1/2 inch holes in the back, 3/8 holes in the front..............
If you have access to a drill press, its not a prob...........
Mine will still lock the front wheel at over 130, so what else do you want..............
I would not go over 3/8 in the front, the back can be done though, you have to look at how they are made, the rear is thick............

Hmmm....where did you decide to drill them? Any specific pattern?
The rear has a 636 rotor, noticably lighter in the rear from stock but it could always be lighter!

Really........., they bolt right on? Hmmm...........
The pattern is there, just make the holes bigger, and counter sink them...............
Use lube on the drill, it will get HOT, and take your time..............

Rule of thumb: You loose 0.3 lb for every cubic inch of steel you eliminate and 0.1 lb for every cubic inch of aluminum.
With brake rotors you get multiple benefits because it's rotating weight.
If I were to drill my rotors,
I would drill and debur as nox said.
Then I would peen the holes.
To peen the holes, find a ball bearing that is 1/8 to ΒΌ inch bigger diameter than the drilled holes. With the rotor resting on a smooth flat surface, place the ball on a hole and give it a good whack with a hammer. This will induce compressive residual stresses around the hole that will prevent a crack from forming there in the future.
Flip the rotor and peen the other side of the hole the same way. Repeat for all the holes. Be consistent or it may warp the rotor.
Have fun
Disclaimer: If you modify your brake rotors, do it at your own risk.
