It's just when you wife enlists the help of YOUR friends, it usually means she wants you to cut back or she'll cut you off. I'm just pointing out the likely choices you'll be "confronted" with.
So is Saturday when you start the nicotine patch? Two thing about the patch.... DON'T smoke while wearing on (you'll get twice the "rush") and expect weird dreams while you sleep (if you wear on at night).
Now if you'l excuse me, I have to go to the store for a carton of cigarettes.

I had good luck with the gum- when I had *intense* need for a Marlboro I would chew the chit of a chunk of nicotine and it help. With the patch all you can do is wait. It was 2 years last week for me- good luck.

Congrats Dean, I'm not a smoker but both my parents quit after 22 years and it seems like it's mostly a matter of will power, you can do it Dino!

Anyone that can kick THAT monkeys ass...is DOING something!!!
My mother quit two-weeks before she flew to Cali. just after they stopped smoking on those flights (several years ago) didn't smoke in Cali with the grand-kids...and NEVER smoked again...good for her!!!
She still had the pack (didn't finish it) in a jar with the date on it when I last visited her...

Two and a half packs a day works two ways....
Way #1 - 2.5 x 365 x $3.30 (buy by the carton) = $3011.25
Way #2 - 3010 is about the number of folks I'd "take out" if I wasn't smoking.
Most say it's a lack of will power. I wouldn't know. You see, after 5 years of recovery, I figure you have to have the "desire" before "will power" even comes into play. I have NO DESIRE so I wouldn't know about "will power". Hmmmm.... time to light up another one!
