NOT ONE SINGLE ZX12 AT FONTANA TODAY!
The parking lot looked like a sea of bikes, but i did not see ANY ZX12's there today. This was my first AMA bike race. I got a chance to speak with a "Team Attack" Kaw tech in their garage work area. I told him I rode a 12 and asked what he thought of the bike. He said they never raced them, as the bike is too heavy and too long. But, he smiled and said "They are super fast in the straights." I said I know. Long live the 12!
I noticed the exhaust pipes were really white colored at the outlets on the 10's. I asked him if that was from running them lean. He said no it was because of the race fuel. Stupid me!
I should have rode my 12 today. I could have rode in the fan lap ride. There were a few guys holding way back and then really getting on it catching back up to the pack.

I was there working at the Kawasaki display at the infield. I only saw a couple of 12's down by the ROK tent.
Rick,
I can see my 29 year old KZ1000 being outdated but my 12 is still more bike than I am rider!

Were there any ZX14's? And Dan, I don't think the KZ1000 will EVER be "outdated"

There were several ZX14's there. I also saw a lot of 10's, 6's and a ZX9. I didn't know there was such a thing as a ZX9.

I still LOVE my 12!!!...It's going to be hard to let her go when I do get my 14 in 2008...

I miss my ZX9R!!! I used to knee-drag that dayum thing all over the blue-ridge parkway back about the same time rocks were forming.
