I am talking about the 1/8th mile. I just ran against one last week, and he turned a 7.84 at 94 mph, without a front strap.
I'm not too worried about it really, I'm just out to have fun and see if I can get it into the 7's in the 1/8th mile. I'm only going to run it a couple of times and then hand it over to her.
Thanks for the tip on the ratchet strap, it may work a lot better than my setup.

No problem, I actually used one on each side, It makes it easier to pull down and release. Plus two is much safer that one. If one pops, it's not going to release a spring loaded catapult from hell to throw you off the back.

Nice thread Shane(at least until you put that ugly pic above on here)....
Hey, we might be interested in going to the drags if ya'll don't mind a 5th or 6th wheel- been ALOT of years for me... and never for Deb.
Would be even better at a 1/4 strip and we're VERY interested in the Jason Miller gig you talked about at Budd's Creek(and that CrotchRocket mentioned above).

It was a good day for me, for my 1st time running the 1/4. All of my runs were in the 10's:
Run 1: 10.94@135 (hit the rev limiter twice, just added 2 teeth of gearing before heading to the track, so I wasn't used to it).
Run 2: 10.76@137
Run 3: 10.81@136
Run 4: 10.69@138
Now, I know these times are nothing to brag about. And, on my best run my 60 ft. was a dismal 2.02! At the end of last year 1.8's were the norm for me. I am just happy because once I get my 60 fts. back on track, I see 10.3's in my near future...and I am 250 lbs. suited.
So, yes, I know I am slow. But with some work, I like the outlook.
Btw, great to meet you Dave (I hope I got the name right...I am really bad with names)! Awesome 12R you've got there!
My 12, Racheal's Superhawk, Todd's Gixxer, and Deb's Busa. She put us all on the trailer with a 10.3@143...on her third dragstrip run ever!

Todd and I had a battle royale when we lined up, and he just beat me by a hair:
Todd vs. Shane
60 ft. 1.992 2.021
330 4.898 4.896
1/8 7.151 7.149
MPH 110.50 109.64
1000 9.058 9.063
1/4 10.685 10.699
MPH 138.48 138.24
Can't wait for the rematch!!!

What a close race that was Shane! An awesome time was had overall. You and Racheal are great people and we're looking forward to many more good times like that and just going out riding between Maxton meets here and there.
To the members here,
I'm new to this board(and metric bikes in general I suppose), so I think Shane and Shiphteey are the only ones we know on here(they're kinda like the plus and minus, the ying and yang, you get the drift). But I can to tell you(for those that don't know them and hear all their BS on here), that they are some really good folks with a passion for fun that they don't let other stuff get in the way of. That's just what my wife and I(and many people out there I'll bet) can use more friends like(and if it takes riding with Kawasakis to do that I guess we'll do what we have to do then - lol). Seriously, thanks again to both of you.
Ok, back to hearing how slow Shane is..........
Todd(this '01 GSXR seems to be little faster then my '76 Sportster)
PS: here's a couple pics of the day(and I have on board video if I ever learn how to edit it):

Yes, the most obvious reason that I can't be seen....you red-lighted. lol It is understandable...it must have been like lining up against the grim reaper, straddled across his steed of evil.....I would have taken off early if I were to face the same situation....

Dude...I am totally happy with my performance yesterday. I am in it for the long haul. Todd is hardly a noob, skill-wise...and deb is 119 lbs. riding an air-shifted Busa. My times were consistent, and I know the mistakes I made.
Todd just out-rode me, plain and simple. Deb did great, and she has a big advantage over any of us man-sized people.
Obviously that Gixxer is not down on power. And the fact that I ran the same mph with 160 lbs. more bike and rider...well that says something.
Only one person made all of their passes in the 10's yesterday...and that was me.
Had I ridden to my proven potential, I would have been right there with Deb...even though I was foot-shifting and about 120 lbs. more, suited. So, we'll see what happens next time....
Oh, and also.....kiss my ass.

Yeah? Well here's the run I went .15 faster then you, and didn't redlight.
It's all in the lube man... and if you want me to use it on you so it doesn't hurt so bad next time, I'll bring it just like you asked BUDDY. ;-)
Todd (dang I want to say i know I'm going to eat these words someday, but can't bring myself to admitting it after hearing the words "grim reaper strapped across my steed of steel"- lmao)

Deb's going to truck so she can bring some shade for us, we'll ride(unless you think yours won't make it?).
Yeah baby, motor and skills.. tell him Dave(at least I have the motor part of the equation).
You and Dave should do good together Ali... and maybe me and Shane can try catching Debbie - lol.
You know, I think we've kinda abortionized Shane's thread here?!

Isn't that cute.... Who you going to get help you open that little can anyway?
Just like your bike(shaking my head).... If you're going to bring it, you better bring more then what you're showing me so far buddy.
You can fit at least 100 of those cans in the one I'm bringing to get my entry fee paid for!

Todd
PS: BTW, you should be working on your bike right now if you want any chance at all... not reading the internet!

When it's done and over you might be sitting on something with something else in your hands... but I think it's going to be your ass you're sitting on, and I don't think it's going to be gloves you find yourself holding in your hands!
