Can this be fixed??

Last August 20th, I took my A1 which was in immaculate condition, out for a ride. September 18th I woke up in the hospital not knowing where I was at, how I got there, why I could only move my right arm, or where that nurse thought she was going to stick that probe.....

Turns out the country road I was riding on ran next to a section of the freeway, where oncoming traffic was running within 20ft. A car going 80 miles/hr left the freeway, came through a cow fence, hit me, and ended up back on the freeway. So the state trooper said, I don't remember a thing...Broken neck, damaged spinal cord, broken jaw, broken ribs, chunk of meat missing from left thigh, brain swelling(which almost killed me). I was lucky.

Fast forward to today. I have regained the use of my limbs, and can walk again, but not well or far. In time, I'll be alright.

My lawyer called & said the insurance compny had totaled my bike out, and was sending a check for $4700 and allowing me to keep the bike.

The bike has no nose left, and the side panels are destroyed. I will post pics shortly.

My question is this....The front fairing mount tore out a small section of the steering head to which the fairing mount bolts to in the collision. Can this be safely welded? Any links to places where I can get Kawasaki replcement parts would be appreciated

That part, if you still have it, can be welded back on. I went through the windshield once and broke it off. I had it welded back on and it was good until the bike fell over in the trailer. I had it welded on again and that was about a year ago and it is still strong.
The only problem was that it never got welded on exactly in the same position, so the mounting holes had to be "resized" a little.

Glad you're doing ok.

When I first started reading this I thought you were saying Can This be real! If I saw this on TV I would think the directors stretched things out too Far this time! Glad you are here and getting better!

When you get to it, Put a Front end on the Bike first to see if the Frame has any problems! If it is OK, then find a Wreched Bike and have them cut the Head off. The take that and your frame to someone to cut out what is needed and weld it back together!

I have a very good condition frame, with Pa. salvage title. It was my daily rider for a couple years after the salvage thing. No issues whatsoever. If you want to get er back on the road, I'll hook you up cheeep ; )

You could weld it and ride. I've seem several 12 break that front mounting tab in minor accidents. Like the others say, It may not be smart money wise to repair it.
With the $4,700 and the money you get from parting you could buy a good used zx14,
or just buy another A1 any have spares or extra money .
