Lowered Front Fender
Any body lower thier front fender? If so how much? I currently have a 60 series front tire and called catalyst composites to see if they sold lowered front fenders like they do for the Busa, Nope!
If any bike needed it the 00-01 ZX-12 does. My front end is lowered about 3/4 -1 inch and if I catch a bump or drop the front to hard it tends to beat up on my front fender and snorkel.
I am thinking of lowering the fender 3/4-1", but wanted input from others.
Also what would the maximum tire growth be at 200mph to take into consideration?
Thanks,
Gary

I lowered my front fender by fabricating new mounting brackets with the fender mounting holes lower. It was fairly easy to do. I set it up so that there is about 3/8 inch clearance between the fender and the tire.

Sounds like a good idea, but how much do you weight? My A model has never bottomed out in nearly 7 years of riding.

I think that Dr. Gary is not so concerned about "Bottomed" as he is trapped Air under the fender and the Higher Profile that will create more Drag! I think he is looking to shave as much off the Bike to leave more for himself!!
I "STILL" Think that if you bought a Dented tank and cut the off Like I , Bear and several of my friends have done (And get over the Look!) the "1 Foot" fo additional clearance for your Mid section" would do more than ANYTHING else for the Aero's.
Now when you do this and get someone to make a cover for the Frame to pretty up things, Let me know because I want one also! My COusin said that looking at my Bike was like looking at a Jet Aircraft with the COver off the engine! Remember I weigh more than you do it is just applied differently!

I have scrubbed my fender a couple of times and yes a little less frontal area is nice since there is not much I can do for my rear.

New brackets made and its 3/4" lower. Probably could have gone a little lower, but wanted to be on the safe side for HighSpeed runs.
