Oh, and guys, he was just pointing out that if this was a zx14 he would be getting cases which is more than a typical total engine rebuild.
Why is that offensive? Geezzz.

The last mojo juice damage I saw torched the combustion chamber big time. Carpenter head on a heavily built Busa looked like someone took a cutting torch to it.
That is the Word! Torched! Like a Plasma Cutter

quote: Vince, did you hear any detonation when it blew? Or at any time?
The piston looks like detonation damage, and its in the right area to be so.
Is the missing piece in the valve broken off or was it "torched" away?
What did the spark plug look like? was the ground electrode blistered and a grey look?
Y2K you are always on the Ball! Yes not only lean but too much Ignition to boot! Because of the amount of Vancomycn I had to take when I had to have 2 inches of my left leg cut out, and many years of Racing and then Old Age, I heard Nothing like the Detonation I should have heard. I was also going about 150 when I hit the Button and it is noisy at that speed~!
The Exhaust valve was "Torched" Away like a Plasma Cutter and the Spark Plugs had all of the Ground electrodes Eaten off but not the Center? The Data recorder showed over 1800 EGT with the Ignition Timing at 8 degrees retard for the 200 Shot. I should have upped the fuel by 4 psi and 2 more degrees of retard to be safe.
Nothing was wrong with the Engine except the Owner and not taking the time to make the correct Adjustments that I KNEW Better at the time and even said to myself that "It is either going to run like Hell0 or Blow up Big Time!

SO tell us how you would repair a 14 with a runied Cylinder "Without" replacing the Case? The Hole is about 1/4 inch deep almost into the Water Jacket!
PLUS This is the 12 SIDE. I have stayed off the 14 side so if you do not like the truth go back there where you all can Stroke each other!
Nothing like driving a wedge between fellow KAWASAKI riders..
Unless and Until Speaking how you feel is either against the Law or not allowed on this Board, I am going to say what is the truth, Like it or Lump it!
I have and will stay off of the 14 side. BUT when someone from that side comes to the 12 side to BASH me without the Skills to do most of what I have done, and have to take their bikes somewhere for an Oil Change, I will and do take it Personally. Specially from the same people that called a friend of Mine a Faggot and worse "ONLY" because he does not have the Writing Skills of a Harvard Grad. They treated me Like they rode a Harley! The difference is, I have been treated Better by the Harley guys than the 14 guys! Even the Busa Guys are not as Sensitive about their bikes!!
Like Y2K pointed out if this was a 14 the cases would have to be replaced. Not to mention the Rod Bolts and ALL of this cost $$$$. If you look back, this is one of the main reasons I do not like the ZX14 to begin with. As you know, I do all of my own work and to replace rings, Pistons or Hurt a Cylinder which is exactly what I have done would have been a LOT More expensive with a 14. How many owners of a 14 are skilled enough to remove the Rods and replace the Rod Bolts and torque them to the correct "Stretch" length?

So we have you and about 10 to 15 more. Requires more time and tools than a lot of people have that can do top end work. You bashed another 14 owner because he he did not have good Written Communication Skills
quote: "Smokin 14" What did he say ??????????????????????????????????????????? (*edit... 1 million question marks removed... fucking up screen size)
Then your friend 12r1 Me rode Bursa, grate bike. Just kiddin'
This is how the 14 owners treat other owners that has problems. You were not as bad at others but not nice either which is another reason not to own a 14.
I have much more than enough Knowledge and experience to build an engine. The Problem I have and am working on is up until 2003 I had ZERO NOS Experience and in the last few years at about 2 to 3 Weekends per year had to learn a Lot. In all of that time this is the first mistake I made that cost an engine. ALL of the highly skilled NOS People have blown up a TON of stuff in their quest for Knowledge. I even know what mistakes I made which is the Key to learning. I have done everything from what I learned and Figured out for myself to be as different as possible so that what ever success I have it will be all mine. I have also had to do this with an extremely Limited amount of Money. Anyone can copy or Pay others for Success but to do it all yourself with a very limited amount of money and even less time, that is my goal and when I achieve this there will be a Lot of people on this and other web sites that will feel like that can finally take a breath because many have been holding it for me to this end.
These are the people I speak to here. I do not know you or care to know you. I have not address anything to you until now and will not in the future, so Bugg Off!!

A 12/14 war??
Damn Vincent you need to make sure you have some sort of automatic system that feeds fuel and timing when you punch that button. It would most likely have paid for itself. But no use crying over spilled milk.
So is there some big pistons in your future?

Mike speed costs and sometimes you pay the price....I have two zx14 motors that i got cheap so if i blow one i'm covered ..I'm pretty sure i will not be tossing any cases in the trash, i can have a zx14 motor sleeved if needed....I just got done sleeving 10 holes on a viper engine... It would not be that hard to sleeve a zx14...

Yep I know that for sure... that would be very cool to be able to sleeve it... I hope if you ever have an issue you can do that, but why has no one done that with the 12 or busa motors?
or maybe they have and I have not heard of that yet....

Amen Ted G! The #1 System I need to deal with is the Writer of this thread! One thing I have learned is the closer you make the Variables, the less allowance for errors.
A Normal NOS System gets Richer during the run as the NOS Pressure drops. WIth the Wilburn NOS Controller, the NOS Pressure stays the Same so if you "Start Wrong" you Finish Wrong! Man did I start Wrong.
To anyone "If" Interested, The #1 and only real Dissagreement I had (But still like and go there) on ZRXOA is about the "Off Set" of the Rear Wheels on the ZXR. One Group thinks Since it came from the Factory that way from "Kawasaki" then that is how it should be. The Other Group thinks it the Wheels should be in Perfect alignment. The 1200 because of the WIder Wheel has about 3/8 inch off set to the right and makes the bike even more prone to turn Left than Right. The Only thing I did not know is that the "WAR" had been Fought to a Stand Still (Like Korea) long before me "rolleyes" and when I bought my ZRX and found this and "fixed" it and the Nerve to "Write" about this (And you know I am not backing UP until you prove me wrong), the WAR Started and ragged for months with the Scars still there. (For the 12 owners it is sort of like "Did Kawasaki Restrict the ZX12R ) FOr me and you Ted it is like the Stock Velocity Stacks
BTW, the ZX12R has Perfect Wheel alignment (Or at least that is how it is set up to be)
Mike, I needed to have had the engine apart Weeks ago (Maybe Months ago) and should have thought about this after Maxton and prepared for it. I need a Smaller Plate so that when Full I can better deal with it!

I have been really busy at work, and have had little time to scan the boards. I am forcing myself to pay more attention to them to help keep my mind clear. So I missed the 12/14 thing.
I looked at getting a 14, but most of my riding is on twisty roads and seldom more than 200 miles long. So the 10 is perfect for me. I am going to sell the 12.

Come on Mr. Hill that cylinder and head will buff right Out!
Kidding ya.
Shoot S&K a picture of the head as they are very reasonable.
Scott@skracing.com
Milllenium welded up my brothers and decked it for a very reasonable price, but he was going to a larger bore anyway........You might find stock cylinders cheeper somewhere though and sell those to someone who wants a larger bore.
Easy on them 14 guys they are almost as sensitive as the Busa crowd!!!!!!
