We need more interesting zx12r topics...

Its winter and we cant ride here damn it, lets start to discuss some stuff on here!!!

Ok, Now everyone go here http://www.sae.org/technical/papers/ground_vehicle and pick a paper where the onfo can be used in the zx12r engine or bike.

I'm a junkie for this shit.

Like the moly impregnated plastic plain bearings....

Or the Issue of detonation...

Or ceramics....

I used to be in a "Winter" environment. After 28 years, it was time to shovel some sunshine!!

Arizona is the place to be. I will do the Traditional NYD ride. Then do a track day on Jan. 7th!!

The only tradeoff I have to put up with is being a 1/4 mile under the sun from June - Sept. Early a.m.'s (4-4:30) and nights are still nice though!!

I havn't seen anyone post about shoot peening. I know that it can increase service life
into the 100k life cycles for some parts that fail due to fatigue. The process has been around since 1942 I believe.

I also posted about engine coatings. I wonder if Mr Hill would have had the piston tops
thermal coated, and the skirts moly coated if the engine would have lived through the
18:1ARF that it he experianced on its last run

The only problem is that the manufacturers and aftermarket guys really dont want long term items...But then they would if we would pay for it...Since were all cheap MoFo's, it is what it is now!!!

Happy new year folks

I have a topic I'd like to talk about - methanol. Anyone ever run a bike on alky? I'd thinking of going to Bonneville, and rather than struggle to try and limit detonation from a heat-soaked, 3bar fed motor, why not just switch fuels?

I would like a titanium frame too...
