What are your thoughts on swagging vs endless chain
I think I will be required to change the length on the chain at some point, for certain
counter/ rear combinations. I shorten chains at work from time to time but I never
swagg the final . I just use the heavy master. This is a low torque power transmission
aplication,
I realize that swagging is like endless but Ive never done it ,so what are the important
considerations.......Michael

You need a good tool for the job. I have a DID and it ran about $130, I think. You need to make sure that you "mushroom" the rivets evenly, and not too little or too much. Maybe someone can post a pic of a properly riveted chain, or I will try to get one later...

Many chain manufacturers will provide dimensional data on installed rivet-type master links. Honda service manuals also list final rivet head diameters for their OEM chains. I use the inexpensive Motion Pro rivet kit from Lockhart-Phillips and have never experienced any problems. I typically use eight or nine flats past snug to achieve the recommended final rivet head diameter.
