Pingel makes wheelie bars for the 12R. U will need to get an M/T MCR2 at the very very least and more than likely a full racing slick. Gear the hell out of the bike so you can just dump the clutch completely off the line without it bogging. U will for sure want the Muzzy clutch kit and Falicon basket. It not just a simple thing to bolt on a set of bars and go fast. Ya have to have the whole package. What mods have you done to your bike so far?

Swft Swft, that should be good place to start with your torque and the lockup.Remember,Start with no weights like MadMike suggested and find the right rpm to leave at so it doesn't bog or blow the tire off. Then to fine tune the gearing you want to finish at the top of a gear and i would think 5th with your setup.Probably about 12lbs in that slick with a big guy like you on it.I wish I could be around when you were trying it out.

Thanks guys for right now I'm just colecting info on what I need to out fit the bike for drag racing.
I've raced some smaller size bikes in the low 13 sec
and a 1969 Mustang to low 11 sec sold everything and got out of racing but now after owning the ZX12R I might get back in.

Were you thinking of still riding your bike on the street or just the track?I ask because a street tire and wheelie bars with strut will work on most sportbikes just fine but the busa and 12 have too much power and the street tire, even after mid track, will try to buck you off looking for traction. You might get away with the shootout tire but then your not going to be out carving any corners.

I still think it was funny when I broke loose right off the line and *cleaned* the concrete pad off!

Front end straps with wheelie bars are not legal in the NHRA rule book, and believe that's the norm. With good reason. You have virtually no suspension, and the bike could be a handfull.

I guess if I was running a NHRA bike, that would matter. Or had a NHRA license. Seriously, that's on the horizon. If I get where I can run 9 secs, I want to be *able* to run 9 secs, ya know? ____________

strap??? I think it would be better to run bars without the strap anyway because...you WANT the weight to transfer to the rear but...you don't want too much travel so...turn the front springs in to raise the front end
Also...I know your tall (swft) so...sit towards the rear of the seat since there is no wheelieing to worry about with the bars...get that poundage ON THE REAR TIRE
