Just had an interesting conversation with a tech at Arata USA.

Seems that the U.S. is the only market where Arata's do NOT come with O2 bungs already installed.

All the Euro spec pipes come with the bung already installed.

Here in the U.S. we can order the mid-pipe from the factory with the O2 bung already installed for $100 more (total $380).

I wonder what might be available in the European market as the bung is already installed there? ......

I don't have to ask them bro, I can tell you the answer is no.

The pipe you bought on eBAY was via a 3rd party reseller. You got a great deal no doubt, but thats where it ends.

If I'd have known you wanted to add a bung and O2 sensor when you bought the Arata I would have steered (or at least warned you) away from a Ti pipe.

Titanium is great until you want to do anything with it (wrap it, weld, it, etc..) and then people run away when you mention it.

It's NOT an easy metal to work with (like Stainless Steel).

I cant say for sure......I have used silica bronze to weld dissimilar metals...but again I would have to try it before I say " It will work." If you thought that you would consider this as an option you could utilize a fitting of any metal for the bung / pipe coupling

What I should have said was I would have to go to ft worth and snag a piece of Ti and try a joint with the Ti and SS with the silica bronzeand then I could say ...yes or no. I do know that I tried a joint with SS and Ti using CP Ti filler and it cracked in the center of the joint..no good

a good wideband sensor should have more than 1 wire and hence be heated (and its temp controlled by the box)....so placement in the midpipe is a tad less critical than with a 1wire non heated narrowband sensor.

No nav, I havent . I will post the results as soon as I have a chance make a joint.
I work a rotating shift so my schedule is crazy. I dont think it will be a problem to use the silica bronze. I have used it for SS to brass, copper to mild steel, even to seal cracks in cast iron when the cast has been decarbed due to long exposure to high heat........
But until I actually make the bond I cant say absolutely that it will work.
It would be great to be able to use a SS bunge...much easier to source I would think.
......as soon as I know I will post.....
