2002 Oil leak...part 2 ...HELP!
Now dont think i am crazy but check this out. I noticed some oil on my passenger left foot-peg mount. So i take off the rider seat . And there is oil down on the inside left front lower lip of the rear plactic section behind the rider seat area. Now i notice one of the connections coming from that little rectifier mounted on the frame unit had oil on it. I disconnected it and it was soaked on the inside with oil...actually let it drip out for a bit. What puzzles me is..... that is the only place i see oil dripping and its an electrical connection. The engine is dry, a little dirty but dry. I even looked at the front chain sprocket to see if anything was being slung back ....nothing....I am stunned ..ideas on this oil leak from anyone?

went to the dealer today....and true enough there was a recall on those stator leads. The guy i bought the bike off said he had it done about a week after he bought it. Said he got a notice from the dealer to have it done. Seems like it held up until a week ago when i last rode it..excluding yesterday. I assume and maybe someone can tell me otherwise...once the recall is done ..if a problem arises again i assume this time i will have to pay for it?....Its no prob but i would like to know ahead of time.

latest on leak.....
Dealer said they would do it for a second time for free but i from what they say they do not replace the lead section unless there is something broken or damaged they just reseal it ...does anyone know the substance they use for the reseal.....i just dont want my bike sitting there a number of days til they get to it would rather just do the repair myself and be done with it the same day. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
