Extended Warranty (Thank God!)
My radiator must have a pinhole in the core. Can't see a wet spot, but can see coolant stain and can smell coolant when stopped. Went to the dealer and he says good thing you have the extended warranty, how much do you think a new radiator costs (With that high cost look on his face)? So I figure I'll go high, I say $500, he gives me the thumbs up sign $663. Can you fucking believe that!
Moral of the story, GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!

Yeah...
Yeah, it sounds as if it just paid for itself eh? I'm glad I've got one. The prices for the parts alone are rediculous, but when you figure the labor cost in it gets unreal.

Wait, is $663 the dealers cost or suggested retail??
Im all for the extended warranty, BUT my only reservation is having a dealer "dink" tech work on my bike!! I would be more stressed about that then the cost of the radiator...lol

I will be doing the work MYSELF, the dealer is backed up for over a month (Thank God Again). As far as MSRP or cost, I didn't ask but, I sure it's MSRP. But still, There is NO WAY that radiator is worth over $200 dollars (It's Not Gold Plated). I can get a new radiator for my truck for $150. All I can say is FUCKEM, and don't even think about buying a new bike (Any Bike) without a extended warranty!

I was sure glad I spent the $306 on my extended warranty
My bill was almost $2900 for the repair of my engine when I blew it up.Total out of pocket on my part $0!

High price of motorcycle parts, I think is in part to the lack of interchangability. How many bikes will a ZX12R shock fit, or a seat or a gas tank. Now look at a car. How many car with a fucking gabriel lowrider shock fit? Dozens and dozens of models. I thinks its just the volume of parts made and the lack of interchangability, but I do agree stuff is overpriced..

It wouldnt be hard for Kawi to produce the same radiator for all the ZX model bikes. Switchgear is the same. Gauges could be made the same. Wheels are the same.
Forks could be made the same. There has got to be some reason why they wont interchange parts.
