fukken gas tank: my turn in the barrel!
This am I went for a "spirited" test ride on my newly assembled 1361. New 44t, oil change, and eTrex on board and 450 mi worth of breakin miles behind me.
Strong cross winds and persistent traffic prevented really putting the blocks to her, but all in all it is rolling fine, so I was pumped. A few 170's in the top of 5th showed promise, but I just couldn't get any decent privacy for serious big-end boogie. Each time I punched the button for 6th traffic would appear, and anyway the cross wind was bad.
So I returned to my house all happy , planning that tomorrow early I would pull her legs all the way apart,. Then I noticed a little gas dripping out of the overflow tube. FUCK - SHIT - PISS! Goddamn overflow tube must be cracked.
I know, I know, "didn't you get a recall notice months ago...??" Yes, I did, but my tank wasn't leaking... then. Shit! shit! shit!.
The drip is very slow so I am tempted to run it anyway tomorrow am.

Getting my done right now as well. Did you guys here about the tire valve recall? Getting that one done at the same time. Saw the paper work at the dealer and he said they havent even mailed the notices out yet so you might as well be one of the first. At least there is not a long wait on the tank about 4-7 days beats waiting weeks like some had too.

valve stem problem
I replaced a valve stem about a year ago because it was slowly leaking air. I wonder if that was related to the current problem.

My dealer kept my tank only two days but I had previously requested they order the recall kit ahead of time. I wonder what a new tank would cost as a spare? I would like to have one to modify for a wet nitrous system down the road.
