Texas Mile gearing

Just checking to see if it is possible for me to run 18/44 gearing on a stock chain.

Thanks.

Matt

Ya driving in with entropy? Bring your 46 if you have a stocker and/or if you
are kind of big.

Tell us how much RWHP you are making and we can suggest the appropriate gearing

Yes, I'll be with entropy and crew. Not looking for real big numbers. I want to get used to the mile first. I'm 152lbs.

Mostly stock, small mods, slip on, 40 shot. Haven't dyno'd yet, but planned on it before the event to ensure the bonneville works.

'preciate the advice.

152lbs!!!!!!!!!! with a 40 shot, nice that'll get you real close to 200mph.
I'm hoping to be around 240-250lbs by October, I am down to 259 from
270 in just a few months.

I was able to put down 202.593 mph with 200rwhp naturally aspirated using 18/44 gearing but I weighed 200 pounds not 152.

If you're spraying a stock motor I'll assume it will make about 215 rwhp, so start with 18/44 gearing with that combo but bring a 43 as well, the lighter rider might need the 18/43 combo. I've run 204.722 mph using 18/43, all motor as well (in better conditions).

The TX surface is much nicers than Maxton where I was running, so the 18/43 combo with your rider might be the trick.

Thanks for all the advice fellas.

I've gained 6 pounds in the last few months, which puts me at 152. I'm 6' as well...

Osti, look forward to seeing you there.

kawachan, I may be hitting you up.

rac4it, that begs another question....do you know if I can still use a stock chain with the 18/43? From what Ryan was telling me over the phone, I doubt it? Those are nice numbers. I'd love to crack 200 but am not getting my hopes up.

Check out this super slick deal. Flawless, the guy says he never wore it. I got it for 200 smackeroos. It fits me perfectly.

That is a pretty cool looking suit....

I will be down in TX anyway at that time, so I might have to come see that one.

I had that exact suit for my rookie roadracing season. It looks a bit more fatigued.

Be sure and check rules, main things are kill switch and steering dampener.

Other than that common sense stuff.

Chan,
I figure we'll do it just like last time, leave Buddy's house before noon on Oct 4th, get to Maryland afternoon of the 5th, do the MIR - Bikeland yearly Grudgerace on the 6th, maybe race, maybe not on 7th/8th?
