COMPLETE Machine shop AIR CONDITIOND and I WORK THERE!!!

Boring, valve jobs (INCLUDING oversive seats)...WHATEVER!!!

Thats great news Kevin.
I'm actually thinking of doing the same. I've been away from "engines" for sveral years now and miss the R&D work.
I have a short time left on my contract with a startup company, but after that I dont know what i'm going to do yet. Theres 4 standing offers for me to re-enter the field when I'm ready. I'm thinking about it hard lately.
Good luck with the new place.

Just found the info...email me or catch me on AIM ~You Envy My SS~. Ill let kevin post the info..as I dunno if he wants that kinda publicity this early...although I dont see why not...its his call..not mine
However after getting off the phone with them...ill certainly be taking my business there.
I called 4 Dealers and Cycle Acc west for prices on just mounting new 010s on bare rims. Ive already purchased the tires and would just want them mounted..filled with air..and balanced.
Dealership 1: $175 Total
Dealership 2: $150 Total
Dealership 3: $90 Total
Dealership 4: $75 Total
CycleAcc West: $50 Total
This shop "Ill do'em both for 35 bucks"
I like the sound of that

Kevin, I'm not suprised at his response. Dealerships are like that also. Same with body shops. They feal you are taking work away from their buisness even thou you had the jobs booked before you actually took the job.
Usually what tips them off is buying a ton of parts and taking them home.
I even know a guy that was doing alot of body work out of his house and his boss fired him and tiped off the IRS and DEP! He had alot of heat on him for a year or so and was fined and then watched closely.
So its best not to even bring up the subject with an employer. After a while when he sees that you are drawing in work and not bleading it off he may be more understanding. Maybe.

I hope it works out for you.I know how much you were looking forward to working there.Too bad they are acting like that.
I have a buisness at home ,as you know, and at one time the place where I worked wanted me to work 80+ hours a week.I told them I had work at home and they told me I had to work there.I pulled out their policy manual and showed them I was required to work 40 hours per week all overtime was voluntary.I then told my boss at the time he could go fuck hisself if he didn't like it.I make way over twice an hour what I made there.
Don't know if I'll be over to get my mapping done there.I don't get along with people that are ASSHOLES.

There a place that started on Mayport road, I used to go there back in like 91-93 when I was in the Navy out there. They moved to past some mall, fuck cant remember that far back. Was ran by a guy named Mike, was very into sprint cars. Ah well, maybe he retired.

The man is NOT an asshole...it just hit me VERY wrong that he won't "let me" do a SMALL amount of work on MY TIME for FRIENDS that I CARE about...

(I KNOW that's not why you said it Brian...I've been VERY fucked up ((depressed with my situation)) for the last...well...longer than I care to remember) but...that's over and done with now (thank goodness)...AND...when I make enough money at work...I CHERISH my time off...
ANYWAY...I got to work in the dyno room today and will be trained to do it ALL myself soon...
A Z1R "drag bike" came in today and we ran it on the dyno...RAN LIKE SHIT!!!
The guy FREEKED when he saw the shop and freeked again when it became OBVIOUS to him that "I KNOW KZs"
I got to shine for the boss and show them I KNOW MY SHIT on these bikes and feel a lot better today than I did when I made the above reply so...PLEASE don't get carried away with what I said...
These ARE SMART PEOPLE and I CAN understand him seeing my side work as a threat...That's why he was as sucsesful as he was/is in his OTHER business...and can afford to open THIS one...
YCIS...I will find out tomorrow if I have to work Sat. or not...walking out the door today I asked and was told to ask again friday...I KNOW he wants me there but he didn't say it yet...I just hope he compensates(sp) me for it if I do...
ERIC...Ryan has already done a few VTXs (before they opened...for real) with good results...
Please feel free to call for an apointment...you KNOW I will make sure you (your bike) is taken care of!!!
DON'T forget to tell them I TOLD YOU TO CALL!!!
I will help you get your bike there if you want me to...ie you can bring it to Keystone and I'll take it up there if you don't have the time to go all the way to Jax...
You WILL be impressed with the shop if/when you see it though!!!
Oh ya...they get $200 for a COMPLETE mapping and will only charge $100 for follow-up visits (don't know how many visits that means yet...I'll ask)...

That and Ive found out that NO frikkin shop in this town is open on mondays...not even stealerships.
If you arent there on sat..ill make sure to comment on how much business YOU would bring his shop in this area
