Sorry about the rage, but I got to work and the computer there lost power and had to be removed and parts ordered! I went back home to Bed.

ANYWAY,

Maxton was in the best Shape it has even been in! "ALL" pf the grass was cut and trimed looking more like a Golf Course than Maxton. Speaking of Golf course, the Sand Trap in "Long Shut Down" is GONE! All paved and smooth and the entire area clean.

The patches we used to dive between in 1st shut down are all gone with 1 smooth paved area. No cones in the middle of the course but a long smooth paved area clean as a whistle! Sure would have made a great place to run.

OK what happened this time? We put Randall on the bikeand he made a warm up pass of about 186. we then went to check the data and the battery was flat on the Computer so no data. We set everything and the bike runs about 177. Having had enough of this we decide to find out right then what is happening.

In the 90+ degree heat we take the bike cover and put it over the 2 van doors and have shade. We pulled off the FI and turned off the fuel and hooked everything up and sprayed the NOS. About a whisper came out maybe a 5 shot (If that much) came out. I disconnected the NOS SOlenoid and sprayed again and nothing but a leaking non spraying NOS Brand 250 Power shot! This thing has been going down hill for about 1 year. Every time I adjust for the spray it just decreased the amount of NOS and I am rich again. SO I install the NX 150 shot and it is spraying seriously. We hook everything back up but having no idea of where the fuel needs to be, we try 6 PSI the bike runs 188 but you can hear it is way rich. (We are recording everything even though we cannot see the data). We set the fuel to 4 PSI and the bike runs 190. We set the fuel to 2 psi and the next run is 192. The day is now over.

Sunday we get there early and take everything apart and watch the spray on 31 jets at about 950 NOS PSI. Good spray but not enough! We put in 38 jets and spray again! I am almost blown over from the force! We put everything together and set the pressure at 6 PSI and head to the start line. I changed riders to me and Randall has the bike in the staging line. I get suited up and get on the bike with just 1 person in front of me. The Chevy El Camino drops a drive shaft and they have to clean that up. Now I am behing the guy on the start line and a few drops of rain come. Then the lightening comes so they shut down the computers. Then it really starts to rain and we cover the bike and sit in the van to wait. We have some time because it is about 12:15 PM and they have until 2 PM or so. Then the Throat Cutting action of the started tells me it is over!

I plan to put the bike on the Dyno exactly the way we set it to see what he had in HP and get back here. There is nothing like an electrical device that does not either work or not work! When something takes a year to stop working, that is painful. Now I have learned to check the out put on everything before leaving Home! Actually I am sort of relived

Just saw Mr. Caputo was going to be selling his Nos Busa on E-bay July 5th.

I do think it is the fastest Landspeed nitrous bike in the world.

Guess, Nitrous might be one of those Love/Hate relationships.

Hope to see ya running 228. 806 next time out Mr. Hill.

Sorry to hear about the troubles! I wish I had been there because Had I been there, I would told you to disconnect all that crap, run the nitrous line straight to the airbox and add fuel using your powercommander and let it rip! DRY! Throw those fuel solenoids in the garbage where they belong! They way I told you to go 2 years ago! I know, I know, your way or the highway.. blah blah blah. Here's the problem... nope not money $$ (that too) but more importantly It's costing you something even more than money... TIME! TIME!!
How many trips to maxton to get that @#@$! wet kit working properly! Ditch that setup, run a single line to the airbox, DONE! :-)

Sorry had to vent. I had seeing you go through this. I could have got you 210mph on a dry shot, TRUST ME.

Bergie, 100% on the money about the "TIME" And at my age, you do not have a LOT of it . I plan to put what I have on the Dyno this week and if it does not work, I will consider making a change! Is that fair enough (To me )

This is sort of like watching a action Movie in slow motion. Yes it has been over a year, but a total of 5 trips to Maxton since the October 2003 199+ run. During that time, I had a lot of attention I had to pay to the Trial and really did no thinking about the bike which cost me 2005. During 2004 it was engine building time and the problems with the JE Pistons and at least after getting the correct cut of CP Pistons, the engine has run well. SO this year is the year one way or the other period.

Yes I could have made about 210 to 220 on a dry shot and run in the low 200's but that is not where I want to be because I could have been there early 2004. The worse problem is making my own ideas work when they are no one elses ideas . If they work quickly, then great. If they lag and drag, then not so great. The best news is that with the Dyno so close to my house at least I can see what works and what does not. The problem is, nothing I am using is an UP or down deal!

WHen I used the NX Brand 250 shot solenoid it took a while to find out that at WOT It used 28 to 30 amps of electricity which the bike could not supply so the solenoid would partly close making the bike "RICH". Then the NOS Brand 250 Solenoid slowly going south making every use have less NOS so the bike keeps getting rich! As my Dad always said,

"Experience is always something you get immediately AFTER you need it"

Well I am not PHD Experienced in NOS Problems, but I know that there are several Graduate degrees I could still take SO over the Summer, "IF" I get everything worked out, then I will install the OD Gears and a few other things and go to Maxton correct in September. ALso understand that I am no longer Raacing on Saturdays, Just Sundays which do not help in this situation

I am still impressed with the 199mph run you had. I had 238HP and could only manage
195mph. I do think I am close to 285-295lbs suited up though.

Try over 1/8 TON Naked! So Start at 255, Add 12 for Leathers = 267. Helmet over 1 pound and boots about 3 so 271. That puts us a lot closer than you think at 15 to 25 Pounds difference plus my Shoulders are large (52 Chest)

I new you were around the all natural 1/8 ton mark that's what I find so impressive with
the 199mph. I'm right with you on the chest size, but I think I might be a touch shorter
at 6'0". It'll take a good 250-260HP for me to get to 200mph.

I remember reading an article out of a magazine a few years back when you went 199
and another person in your same class with a nos Busa under the supervision of
Mr. Gunthrie went a touch over 200mph. That and the first Texas Mile in 2003 sparked
my first interest in Landspeed racing. How easy I thought it would be my first time out.

Actually "Egg" Shape for Sub Sonic, the problem is, I have not learned to ride the Bike backward yet so the "BIG" end will be forward!

I put the bike on the Dyno as it sat at Maxton and it made about 275 HP and the power was still climbing. About 4 more runs and the lowest power was about 258 and the peak was 276. I am still dissapointed so more work needs to be done!. I will post the chart later!

I forgot to add that truly like Maxton, the timers were set for a delay in power also at 50% over 2 seconds so I did not see the HIT the bike really has. I plan to pull the FI out and lower 1,2,&3 Nozzles so they will flow like #4 and check the actual flow from each and every Nozzle with the lines bent like on the bike and match them all up so I will have a total of over 1.2 pounds of NOS Flow for 10 seconds and then work out the fuel. The new larger Wilburn Motorsports NOS Pressure Controller is great because I can set it at 950 Pressure and and work out the jetting to make the correct power at this pressure and start the run at close to 1200 PSI (About 1150) in the main bottle)

My #1 problem now just may be the limited flow of the small NX NOS Solenoid. The next size up requires 25 amps at WOT and the NOS I do not trust. Guy stated that some haxe rubber in the system while others have teflon! So If anyone know which have what, let me know!~
