Muzzy clutch install instructions.....

I am in the process of installing the clutch on my A1 12R. I have a flat shim that appears to be an extra piece. I did a search on this site, I reread the service manual and parts fiche front to back and am confident that this is not an OEM shim. The entire clutch assy is Muzzy's stuff, unfortunately, I bought the bike with the clutch installed and have only an idea where this shim is to go (based on wear marks on different components) but it appears unneccesary to me, in this location. It is also possible that this shim was installed by a tech along the way to "solve" some problem or another. I am hoping that someone can scan their instructions or post a link to the instructions (the spencercycle site is down, so those instructions are gone).

I did read some old posts regarding shims in these clutches, but there were only vague refences to this mystery shim.

Thanx.

Yeah this is not that washer. This washer is 1/3 the thickness and about 1/2" smaller OD.....

I think the washer your talking about goes under the pressure plate for the bearing ring and the clutch release rod...

It definitely not 92200A, as I never took that apart....and this shim is substantially larger

It's not 92025....this is way too big to fit into that space for the torrington bearing

4 washer in the clutch.
1 behind the basket.
1 between the basket and hub.
1 under nut that holds hub on.
1 under clutch release rod between bearing.

there was an excellent step by step guide with pix on spencercycle.com years ago... I used it when I installed my clutch... cant find it on the site.. looks like he's rearranged everything.

It may be worth your time calling him 800 510 1945 and asking him to email you the link or the pdf if he still has it...

That would be the one that goes between the roller bearing and the pressure cap
on the release rod. It keeps the roller bearing form eating into the soft cap.
