Backfiring

Guys,

I have the akra, pc and the k&n filters installed in the 12. since then it backfires under deceleration.
I have read that you have to remove the clean air system to solve this problem. My question is when you
are not removing the clean air system does this really hurt the engine! When not i leave like it is.

I really like to hear from you.

Greetings

Jean Paul

Janes,
Sorry I got carried away. Check for the exhaust leaks, maybe richen up your 0 and 5% cells. Don't worry about removing your KLEEN. Just get a set of block off plates and get rid of the plumbing.
Anybody else got an idea to help our friend? I never had the problem. But then I never rode my bike with the KLEEN on it.
Doug

Has the PCIII been mapped? If not that is a problem. Also mine after mapped will backfire some, not real bad. I get it usually when I am accelerating hard right at the shift.

Get the Muzzy Kleen air block off plates and keep Doug a little happier. The Kleen System block off will cure the backfiring with the Akro and causes no damage.

Whew.

I haven't mounted my Akro yet and was worried about the backfiring. I have the Muzzy block off plates, timing advancer, and aluminum fan to install at the same time. I didn't want to risk the Muzzy pipe melting a hole in my fairing and my neighbors would shoot me if I made my bike any louder than I had to. They threw a party when I sold my Harleys's.

This cracked me up, I hadn't thought about Redd Foxx in a long time.
