BEWARE OF CHICAGO CYCLE
I recently had a very discouraging encounter with Chicago Cycle. I went their to purchase a bike that I had left a deposit on. Previously I had been quoted a price by an African American sales representative, I decided to see if I could get the bike for cheaper. On this particular day I was quoted a price by a caucasian sales representative. This quote was significantly lower the the previous price I had been given. Upon futher investigation and hanging around the store I found that they give Caucasian employees permission to go lower on the sales price to boost their sales quota than they do African Americans. This finding prompted me to take my business elsewhere. Upon asking for the refund of my deposit the sales manager was very rude and disrespectful. I am a long time bike consumer and he just through my business out the door. I just thought I would put this information out there so as to encourage others who have had this simular problem and advise anyone buying a bike to shop around and make sure their getting the best deal.

Yep, that does happen quite a bit and probably more with car sales, especially
if the sales manager has a relative, friend, or favorate person on the sales floor.
A friend of mine went from selling around 10-12k a month take home to 5-6k
after a sales manager's daughters boyfriend was hired. The boyfriend only lasted
a month and a half after she broke up with him.

You know what? I am what you would call a vehement anti-racist

IF what you are saying is true AND you can prove it then you need to get on the phone with the Chicago D.A.'s office and get the ball rolling.
That kind of shit is intolerable (if it's truly happening) and just taking your business elsewhere does nothing to stop it. What would Rosa Parks have done?

Chicago is great. Very racist. At one time Chicago was the most segregated city outside of South Africa. Still the best city in the USA IMHO.

I didn't put this out to go back and forth with people even the salesman himself said something was wrong. If this info is beneficial take heed if not carry on.
