high speed braking problem
Problem 1.. When riding my bike over 130 my front end starts to feel really light and the bike starts to feel unstable.. Iv'e had the wheel balanced, rotors changed, and brake pads changed. ..
Problem 2.. when braking from 80mph and over the handle bars get lots of feedback. I'm getting some real bad shaking when braking. This problem is consistent..
SOMEBODY please help!!!!

p.s. when doing roll ons against my buddies busa my bike easily pullled away from him
but this high speed stability problem prevented me from embarrasing him..

Headset bearings or wheel bearings

Swingarm bearings can do funny stuff to handling too, but I wouldn't expect braking issues from them... Check the headset bearings.
How are your tires? Bad tires can cause all sorts of wierd stuff. The 12 seems to be hard on front tires... at least mine is.

A tire can be bad from the new. Happened to me ones. I tried everything but nothing helped untill I put a new tire on and everything was good again.

my 12 bwould feel like it wanted to wheelie
right at that speed
1 rear suspension set up properly the rear shok is loaded
in 5 or 6 gear the ecu is also providing full power
as opposed to already being at a hi rpm
or a lower gear
lots of 12 owners dont know that 1
2 - under braking
that depends on how many hard set downs from wheelies youve done
only a few will knacker.............thats right only a few !!!!
will knacker your head set bearings..... take life from your fork seals
& sometimes the wheel axle bearings
any juddering under braking could be
an offset between your left & right calipers
up front or a distorted disc either or both sides
worse case scenario your tire may need replacement
michelins & metzlers run rounder....pirellis too
good luck

I seem to recall a service bulletin regarding tightening the front axle... at least on the '00 models. Something about tightening one side or the other and checking for proper clearance between the fork leg and one of the spacers. I don't know what that was supposed to fix.

I'd check the forks, are they twisted in the clamps at all and are either of them leaking fluid ie bad seals? If any of the above are happening that could definately be the cause. These things could be caused by age or especially if you do a lot of wheelies.

Any pulsing of the lever would suggest a rotating brake component is out of true, i would suspect you have a warped brake disc/rotor
Jack the front up and cable tie a biro to something to use it as a pointer and rotate your wheel if the biro touches the disc all the way round then it ain't warped if it doesn't then.... or you could use a dti if you have one.
Also check your rotors for signs of highspots if the above shows nothing
Repeat for other side!

Possible caliper pistons partial seizure or mastercylinder fault, pads glazed up, brake fade, etc. get it checked out. Those tokicos are the only thing between you and the vehicle in front!!
How much meat left on the pads? When was the last time brake fluid was changed?

Back in the 70's I went through a SPeed Wobble in my H-1 500 and eventually I found the Adjustor marks were off and when the wheels were aligned no problem!
Now if I was on the ZRXOA Sight, this would spark a 20 page debate over the Factory know what it is doing and use the marks even if the bike runs wide on right turns and falls in on left turns
