Muzzy exhaust continued
I just checked the partnumbers from kawasaki. The zx10r, zx12r, and vulcan 2000 all have the same injectors. These are on the 2003 and later models. I didn't check the earlier years. I'm just trying to think a little bit outside the box. The stock ecu should be able to handle a header given the proper injectors. It seems like there should be a match from every exhaust system to the injector size.
I follow you guys on the duration, and the back pressure.. but I'm still not convinced especially with the Muzzy. I talk to Mark Salvisburg at factory pro for an hour about this. He said he could never get the muzzy to idle right, and also couldn't get it correct at certain throttle postions. He told me of many guys changing there Muzzy's for Akrapovics etc because of the idle and drivability. Holding the injectors open longer doesn't sound right to me, it seems that you should have enough fuel in the first place for the specific injector cycle.

If you want to do an empirical test, put the muzzy on the bike, set it up so the idle hunts and take a piece of cardboard and cover about 10-20% of the exhaust outlet. The hunt goes away. Actually, if you change the outlet diameter and reduce it 1/4" you will loose the hunt, pick up a couple pounds of torque on the bottom and lose a couple hp on top. OR, you can leave the F'ing pipe alone, set the idle at about 900-1100 rpm so it doesn't hunt and just keep riding with PERFECT driveability if you use the correct map. Which I'll be happy to set you up with. My bike runs so well you'd swear it had carburetors!!!.
