No it is part of the crankshaft. It may be possable to find or make a gear and machine the crank to accept it as a keyd or press fit gear. But i think a crank is $700 and would be less BS to deal with.

IF the crank is shot, i would get one off ebay with a bad journal usually around $100-150 and go with a muzzy 1375 or the APE 1394.
Someone here could probably help you out with a core crank.

Sorry to hear about your engine. That sucks. As for breaking a chain in a low side, stranger things have happened.
I broke a cam chain and trashed the top end of my 600 ninja when I hit a dip in the road!
I took it in to have the valves adjusted and when they pulled the valve cover they dropped one of those little air injection tubes that pass air from the valve cover to to the air injection ports into the top of the head and didn't notice. When they put it back together and couldn't find it they figured it fell out on the bench or floor and put a replacement in.
Several days later I hit a big dip in an unfamiliar road at about 4000 rpm and suddenly lost power. I pulled in the clutch and pulled over. When I tried to start the bike it obviously had no compression. Then I noticed that a rectangular chunck of the head and valve cover, about as wide as a cam chain, was punched out in the front of the engine
When they tore it open they found the little steel tube in the teeth of one of the cam gears. Apparently when I hit the bump the tube got in between the chain and the gear causing the chain to break. Fortunately the shop owned up to it being their fault so it didn't cost me anything except being without a bike for 3 months.
