Lane splitting in IL?
Any Ilini on here? Can you lane split in Illinois? With the Dan Ryan tear up I got to find a way to cut down on the commute.

illegal. IL drivers are nuts, you'll eat a door or get smashed if you try it.
I'm glad I'm out west and would take I88 into the city, if I still lived nw it would have to be the dan ryan.

it would be nice on I-55 when people stop for no fuXking reason. there's no way in hell a law would pass here in IL with all the sport bikes crashing and dieing. two years in a row with a record death toll in chicago.

upgrade 74
i live in peoria.. IDOT re-doing interstate 74.. largest up-grade since the 50's. sweet when complete. offramps thru-town always dangerous for years... many locals drive through area like a bunch of idiots! like they dont even realize how nice it'll be when done. i hate going to work in the mornings because it's like anightmare!people will ace you out of a lane just to gain 2 car-links before merging traffic comes into play! 'screw him' i'm speedin' up just to slow down! i wont ride this area just for the simple fact that i value my life... what's wrong with people! be aware if ya' must go this way. the cager's will take you out and not even bat an eye! just thinkin' how nice it'll be when it's done. supposed to be a race complex complete at theend of summer in MInonk il. I-39 raceway. dragstrip/dirt oval/roadcourse! might get lucky eh? sureley will keep the illegal street racing scene at a level to where it'l benefit everyone. wishfull thinkin'? if your in the area, stop in the pool-hall on farmington rd. Dave's goodtime billiard's. bunch of us ride. ask for A.J. on the weekends and we'll hook up and shoot the shit! see ya Aaron Jones!

yea it can be a tough crowd sometimes for sure!! but its all good...i guess you just have to look at things from all angles...and i would agree w/ anyone that said it was a weirdo kinda failure...my buddies and i stood there and shook our heads over it for awhile ourselves...i have rode the piss out of alot of sportbikes starting w/ my first gixer in 1986 and ive never had a motor get dicked up like this one!!
I will go on the record and say these are a real good bunch of guys here... you should check out a 4x4 forum i lurk on www.pirate4x4.com ... Those guys are just plain brutal !!!!
BTW thanks for the offer!! did you upgrade the clutch? or gussy up the oem stuff...i was wondering what to do there..once i get this back together id like to just ride it!!
peace

I also had a gsxr1100. 92 blue/white tiger stripe. mark tiller's old built zook. no slouch! hopefully jay will say my basket is good or i'll be lookin for a new/use one, billet? A.J.

This web site says splitting is legal in Cali only: http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/PrintLaws.html
I'm googling for more info about a possible change in the law but this is all I could find:
