Off Topic- Toyota Tacoma
It looks like I probably will be getting a 2002 Toyota Tacoma in the near future. (I luv Toyotas, this will be my 3rd Toyota, first truck) Does anyone know of a web group for them? Its a V6 SR5 4x4. I guess I will have to start shopping for some off road toys to haul around when I get back to the states.

OR....
You could buy a real truck. Unless of course, you don't haul anything more than boxes of sanitary napkins.

get the factory supercharger if they still offer it... ;P
mu final choices were between the tacoma and the zr2 S10.
that supercharger option was a heck of a temptation, but i went with the S10 for fit & finish. which i thought was kinda odd, considering the toyota in my opinion was normally a better made vehicle than the GM. but internally and ergonomically the S10 was more comfortable. was a close race....took me a while to make that choice.
anyways have fun with it, and remember: factory isntalled...factory warranted.. heh heh heh

Taco Lover!
To answer your question!
http://www.tacomaterritory.com/
I have a TRD supercharged PreRunner, and all I can say is, "IT IS A GREAT TRUCK!". I bought it new with the blower. Drive train with blower have a 5 year/60K mile warranty. I have 60K miles now with NOT ONE PROBLEM. The PreRunner is a 4WD without 4WD, if that makes any sense. It was designed for desert racing, it has all the 4WD goodies like a specially tuned TRD/Bilstein offroad suspension, larger brakes, 31" tires, 410 gearing, rear locker, fender flares, 12" ground clearance, etc., but it's 2WD (Rear Wheel Drive). I've run 14.9 quarters with an automatic (with 31" tires). There is a new model called a S-Runner (Sport) with a 5 speed and TRD blower that are running high 13s. The S-Runner is also 2WD but is street (Sport) tuned. Lowered with 16' street tires. An S-Runner/with blower can be had for approx. $22K.
Next year the Tacoma will be completely re-designed, maybe a new engine! Also I have seen a S-Runner type Tundra (Proto-type) at the car show in NYC. Any day the V8 TRD blower will be available. I think a 2WD V8 Tundra with a TRD blower will be a good match for the Lightning.
If going to buy new wait till 2003!

Here is mine, or one identical to it. I love it. Thanks for the link , Koz.
My Tacoma
BTW- I was quoted $3929 for the blower, installed. Sorry, but for that $$$ I'd go with the Tundra.

Tacoma
My Tacoma is exactly like Scooter's less 4WD. I love the truck. I have to admit, I thought it would get better gas mileage. Its a nice truck though.

Taco
Scooter - A Tacoma with the blower will smoke the V8 Tundra. TRD will make a blower available for the V8 in June, then the Tundra will be handful.
4K$ is too much. The install is not a complicated job, but you must be mechanically inclined. The kit comes with a very good detailed step by step installation video and everything needed for the install. The only reason you would want the dealer to install it is, you get a 5 year/60K mile warranty on new truck (1 year if you install). Also if you have the blower install on a new truck/car at the dealer you can have the cost included in the financing.
For a used Taco, check on ebay for the TRD blower. I've seen them sell for $2K new.

the tundra is a nice, big, heavy truck...with a slightly under powered motor.
(and if my brother reads this he'll shoot me.....)
hehe
seriously it doesn't make all that much more power...and i imagine the blown tacoma will out-do it.

I'd spring for $2K and do it myself, (my daughter can wait a little longer for a car, Heh heh!) Guess I'd better be on the lookout. Dang near had one but the guy wised up and bought another 'Yota.
Went trailer shopping today. Damn it, but I have a hard time puttin' a bike in a trailer. I guess it would be nice,...once in a while.

I have 15,000 miles on my Tundra, and it's been the best daily driver vehicle I've owned so far. The smooth V8 has pretty good power, but it doesn't rev very quickly in the lower RPM ranges. I'm not sure if the electronic throttle control limits the motor at low RPMs. I redline the motor nearly everyday, when passing cars etc., and so far, it's going strong. I've thought about adding the supercharger, but I think it will only get me in more trouble (the Lightning's blower is loud and sems to attract cops for some reason)

Toyota Brake Pads

I recently changed my front brake pads on my Celica after 125,000 miles! They still had maybe another 15-20K in them! And you know what my tag is!

enclosed or flatbed trailers....sigh...
enclosed has HUGE amount of drag, 5 or 6 mpg at least, empty or full. also acceleration is affected adverselay as well.
but your stuff IS protected from weather, bugs, folks with loose morals...
open....you can do about anything with it, and drag is way lower
but your stuff is out in open for the world to see....
no driving home with wrecked bike in anonymity..its out there for the world to see and laugh at...
(more incentive for me to not toss it down the road on trips...)
whats the count? 36?

36? huh?
I was thinking of this Featherlite. 1050 lbs. Or a Wells Cargo Cyclewagon. Looks like I'll be using the snowmobile trailer again.
