Variable Valve Timing for motorcycles

When are motorcyles going to get Variable Valve Timing. Lexus, Infiniti, Honda etc all use some form of it.. Seems like the technology would really help for horsepower and torque.

Unfortunately the weight, complexity and cost of those systems will preclude their use in motorcycles. A litrebike is grossly overpowered compared to even a performance car and has no shortage of torque. If it's really needed, they'll just add a few hundred cc's which will solve everything.

Many Honda motorcycles have VTEC. The VFR800 for one.

Yes, but it's crude compared to the systems on cars. The fact that no other bike make has a similar system and Honda doesn't make a big deal about it, indicates that it is largely meaningless.
