zx12 mods ?
I have a stock 2003 zx12 with 3000kms on the clock , what kind of percievable power gains can i expect from pcm, slip on and airfilter , maybe a differnt rear sprocket ?
I have read i can free up 30hp at the crank , that would be friggen u-age would it not ?
any other easy ad cheap mods out there worth do-in.

PC and a dry shot of nos best BANG for your buck! Would get ya an easy 30HP to your rear wheel and still be safe.

Besides nitrous your not gonna get 30 hp without getting into the engine. A full exhaust and custom map and filters you can probably get 15-18 peak horsepower..

the standard in this bike is this:
full exaust
PC
-1 on the front
with that you have a lot of bike.

actually with a full system brock hindle, bmc race filter, velocity stacks, 5 degree ignition advancer, 105/103 adjustable cam gears and a thin head gasket you might actually get 30 rwhp...
I'll let you know when Im done, I'll post dyno charts..

supra that sound like the Vince Hill recipe.
I think he got 180-182 after custom map.

The ZX12 dont need no PowerCommander!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Trigg...All it needs is an Akrapovic stainless pipe and a 17 tooth front sprocket for the street...Dont touch the clutch,The OEM setup is perfect !!!
Supra, if ya gonna do all that???...Then If I were you I would do the 4400 package from Carpenter Racing and have 220hp!!!

with akra you dont need a PC.
I have one since I have a muzzys and a lot of other stuff.

i believe vince found more hp with the step hindle than the akrapovic.

get a full muzzys exhaust, power commander III, kleen air blockoff plates, muzzys aluminum fans, 17t front sprocket, and bmc RACE-flow airfilters and youll be happy... those were my first mods. be sure to get kleen air blockoff plates and pcIIIr when you get the full exhaust. i personally stay away from nitrous... the next mod you should be making after what i just listed is your brakes... get stainless steel brake lines and better pads... big difference.
muzzys is awesome, and i got everything i just listed from either muzzys.com or kneedraggers.com, let us know what you think- those simple mods really, really bring out the potential of the 12.
crotchrocket: the stock clutch on my 2003 zx-12r was a fucking disgrace, do i need to go into detail about why? i thought it was a commonly known problem.

well igot the Akrapovic titanium full exhaust system,K&N filters and the pc with a map from power commander and now the bike runs way rich.so should i get rid of the pc?i figured the the K&N would make it lean so now,i guess the map over compensated...

If you guys need to have a PC then remove the air filters...Use the OEM filter, but take out the foam and screen, then put the filter frame back in or just duct tape the opening closed...
