zx12 crank differences
I've got a 00 that needs a crank and I can easily get an 03 for a donor. I've heard the later years of the 12 had heavier cranks but don't know about the interchangeability of the cranks. Anyone know for sure? BTW, the #1 main bearing on this engine had decent bit of wear from the cam chain tugging on it but that journal looks like it has something deposited on it. It won't scotchbrite off whatever it is. Size is perfect. #4 rod journal has a tiny section that appears to have been forged undersized! Weird!

03 crank will work fine. You just need to get the 03 flywheel that goes with it.

I don't think you need the flywheel.

true, but they are interchangable.
I know of a 03 rebuilt with a 00 crank.
and a 00 with a 02 crank.
must match fly wheel to charging system not the crank.
