16 Tooth SAFE OR NOT

a friend has a 16 t ,, that would put me close to a 17/47 wouldnt it,, would that tax the shaft,, is it safe,, or should i hold out and get a 17 like i wanted to do.

I run 16-46 and have been all last season...Only problem is the chain rubbing on the chain guide but that doesn't slow me down in ETs...

I've had a 16 on the front of my 9 for a couple of years...it doesn't have the same power as a 12r on motor but it does on the shot. Never had a problem with the 16t. I would definitely not use a 15, though. The tighter the wrap, the harder it is on the chain.

with that kind of power i wouldn't use a 15, though some folks on the 600s use a 13 or 14.

then they wonder why they only get 10k out of a chain....
