Hello im presuming that you are running windows xp, if so i would start computer in safe mode press f8 at start up, then search for that file and delete it manually it should be verry easy to find, just use windows search and make sure you click the boxes for system files and or hidden files. Or you can manually find the file go into C then Windows then system 32 files, (find the file) then right click on it and select delete , then reboot all should be good
Good luck and have a great day.

it is quite possible that no anti-virus programs will work. there are some files that are set up so u can not delete them at all. i had one (spyware, not virus) that simply COULD NOT be deleted in windows. even using a special program specifically intended to delete fiels that wont' let themselves be deleted did not work. eventually i ahd to mount the drive as a slave drive (under linux as it happens) btu i screwed up in teh process and lsot the entire drive. anyway, if u can't get it to delete, try looking for one of those programs that deletes undeletable files. i can't remember the name of the one i used unfortunately.

One excellent program from McAfee is called Stinger. It is free to download and usually is effective at removing known virus' and trogans and the like.

McAfee removal instructions for VUNDO are here:

Also, since your issue seems to be related to Internet Explorer, you can run the "Hijack This" application to see if it helps. It is excellent at removing those pesky programs that infect the browser.

Of course, there are the other two well known programs of SpyBot - Search&Destroy and Lavasoft - Ad-aware. They are effective against certain virus, trojans and the like.
