Question for Doug Meyer or anyone
If the pre-production engine in some ways was inferior to the production engine, Can you specify in what way this is so? Also you said that you have the engine for the bike in which RIckey ran his 9.52@ 146.97 mph. If the engine is pretty much the same as the production model where is the ECM for this bike? Is it any different
I also have a question about the KHI dyno chart posted on the internet.
STD zx12r 165ps
D Titanium 32 38B 42L 50-54R 176ps
D Titanium and Ram Air 32 38B 42L 50-54 R 181ps
Can you please tell me what these numbers means. I know p.s. is a metric scale to measure horsepower. 1ps= .986 h.p.
Thanks,
supra
p.s. also how was the cam timing and valve adjustment done for your Maxton Bike 192.375 and 199.1?

I don't have THE engine Rickey had, I have the "sister" to it. There were two pre-pros in the country. Rickey got one early to do drag testing and I got the second one in a basket when Tech Training was done with it to build a bonneville engine. I turned it into a 1340.
An example of differences would be that the two exterior cylinder head bolts on the cam chain side are only 6mm on my engine. On prod engines they are 8mm, I believe.
Re the numbers- you are correct, the "ps" is a metric hp number. Abbrev . for pfederstarke, a german word. and as you point out ps is just a bit lower than bhp. I'm GUESSING that the other numbers refer to pipe tube lengths and or bends.

Thanks Doug:
I guess what Im asking is are these KHI dyno numbers measured at the crank, the clutch, or the rear wheels?
Thanks
