The "Official Press Release" .Move Over ZX-12R. The 2006 ZX-14 is here...not so fast.
Well, 188 at the back with a pipe aint gonna cut it...... 
A group buy on the muzzy kit for $1700 would bring all your 12rs past 200 rwhp. A figure the factory doesnt have the balls to produce for the masses. (yet)
And the styling? Well, beauty is in the eye of ..... well, ok its ugly. Tollerable, in black, at best.
They need to make two versions.
The zx14R will be a solo seat, varriable wheelbase, 500 lb. wet, 200 rwhp.
And the zzr1400, what they have now.
At least they produce a contender, unlike Honda.
Wheres the190 hp v5 xx ? That turned into a no show.

I tell what he's smokin Fish.............................. Every Damn ZX14 that he comes across His posted numbers match the intel I've recieved as well. It's a shame that Kawasaki felt the need to early release models to Muzzy, Coby, and Ricky to be massaged to perfection to boost the marketing for the tird! I for one am very unimpressed with this tactic. They can't allow their production bike to speak for itself? So they send off preproduction models to be screwed with/ tuned and altered to do what? I've NEVER in 20 plus years seen a manufacture of motorcycles do this. Maybe it's been done but not to my knowledge. I'm with Y2k on this one. It may turn out to be a decent motor package to modify, BUT I aint takin that ugly BITCH NO PLACE

gunner... all oems release models in the development stages to the aftermarket to help refine their product.
this is nothing new and nothing unique the the zx-14 .
why are you making it sound like it is?

I remember when the mags claimed 136hp from the xx. I had one and it wasnt anywhere near 136. Try like 124 hp. Ok, the intake cam was retarded quite a bit and the exhaust cam was off too. But even with a pipe and cam gears and factory cam timing it made 141 or so.

I'm just not so sure that suzuki wont be on top next year as far as production. Kawi holds back more than suzuki. But not as much as honda.
Can you imagine the bike honda could give us for $15,000 if they decided to close the gap between gp bikes and production.
I'm still waiting to see what the tweaked new cbr1000 will make.

The 06 CBR1000RR is the best looking of the four Japanese litrebikes FO SHO!!!!!!!!!! And it's not tooo far behind in the power dept. either. Looks to have the best chassis.

Your right about some of this... It is not the prettiest bike for sure and reality we have way more power to go buy a 05 12 and throw 1700 in it and it would surely kick ass. I've owned two 12's and loved my 02. I wrecked it and bought a 03 put my goodies on it. And it was not half the bike.. Piece of shit.. Suppose to be the same bike but didn't have the same power don't know what was up with it.. The got 04 10r. Good bike too small.. And now got the 14 on order. To me a sport bike is just like a Dirty Whore. Fuck the shit of them for awhile and then get another........All of the whores always got something you like and something you don't.............. So you on to the next one.......

where were you in 2000? Rickey and Rob had some non rpeatable numbers back then I believe. . . .

I also remember the 127 HP for the ZX11 Finally I realized they all used STD HP
I had to do everything to mine to get in that range!

Nothing that any of those bikes produces can be considered as stock or even close to what you or I can go out and buy. But there are those folks that love to be lied to and will believe that the bike they own will run like Coby's or Rickey's.. Most people don't want to live in reality anyway so it's all good...

Do I think the 14 will be a great starting place to build a rocket??? YES!!!!!!!!!!! It will always be ugly though BUT it will also always be 200cc bigger than the 12 and 100 more than the Zuke (for now).. So it's a better place to start without doubt, But 75% of them will never have more that a pipe and PC........So with that being the case a slightly massaged 12 will have a field day. AND all the while look better while doin it
All of us 12 owners always poked fun of the ugly Busa even though it run well we always said "yea but it's ugly" Now we find ourself's in that same ugly boat and all the sudden Fast is Beautiful?? A little one sided I would think.

R&D trans told us that...the ZX12 trany was the worst for BIG power (we already knew that) but the 14 looks to be the best...so far...I.E better than the Bbusas

2nd, 3rd and 4th gear on the output shaft have offset gears and the windows are too big.

I had 3rd. gear completely shatter!
It was undercut and that weakend already weak "spokes".

Although my strokers; makes more power then I can use, you can only stay on top so long. Wait till Muzzy releases a stroker for the zx-14. Guaranteed it will be an RR, and faster then our zx12 strokers.

Psycho, maybe undercutting caused the failure? Why did you feal it needed undercutting?
I've never had any trouble shifting the 12r tranny no had it ever pop out of gear.
Mega, Oh no doubt. If you get into the 14 engine all bets are off. But i'm comparing putting $2000 or so into the 12r VS $6000 to get a 14.
