only kanji is that picky. u could never spell zx12r with kanji, not even mispronounced like the hiragana/katakana spelling i mentioned (still tryin to get that shit uploaded). but it's not quite THAT picky. incidentally, chinese and japanese writing (only talking kanji again) are largely identical. kanji was taken from the chinese to begin with. i imagine it has diverged over time a bit, but it's still essentially the same.
