Japanese charecters for Decals? I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the Japanese charecters for Ninja and ZX12r. I was thinking of changing my decals to Japanese charecters and getting rid of the English. Just wanted to see how it looks. But I can't seem to find the Chareters anywhere on the net. Any ideas or has anyone done that?

incidentally, u would never find any kind of japanese writing on bikes (or cars or whatever) in japan. its all in our alphabet (latin or roman? don't remember. they call it romaji). guess they think out writing is cool like we think thiers is? dont know. wierd.

kanji the japanese writing looks great. i had ninja and kawasaki painted on the lower fairing. zx12r i think pretty much comes out the same. also had a couple of ninja guys airbrushed on tail inplace of the ninja decals

zx12r zx12r would be written the same as far as i know. i looked into it when i was doing other translation. most kanji has a specific meaning depending on way it is used. zx12r does'nt. just a form of romanji (english) and does'nt really translate. could be wrong but was my understanding of it. that's why i went with kawasaki in kanji and just dumped the zx12r sticker.

numbers are very rarely written in japanese, even in japan. and not just on vehicles. u just don't see traditional japanese numbering outside of the odd japanese restaurant (just a local cuisine restaurant there of course). as far as letters, there is absolutely no way to spell most english words in japanese, not even using hiragana or katakana. kanji is not a phoenetic writing system, it is pictorial, more like hyroglyphs [sp]. the symbols have zero to do with how they are pronounced. in fact, several people can have the same name (in terms of sound) but with many different kanji. on the flipside, a single kanji can have several compeltely different sounds. hiragana and katakana (same sounds, just different characters) are phoenetic, but their alphabet only has 1 consonant. everything else is vowels or 1 consonant plus one vowel. in other words, u cannot spell ZX. if a japanese person were to translate that tho, they would say and spell it "zedu eksu", or "zi eksu" for americans. ill cut n paste the symbols as images in a few minutes.

damnit, not sure if i can get them up today. may have to try tomorrow. but suffice it to say it don't look good. it takes 4 symbols to say ZX and 2 for the R.

Correct me if I'm wrong, frEEk... ... but isn't CRITICAL that the symbols are reproduced EXACTLY or it could actually say something else completely? For example, you try to make a decal that says "ZX" and "R", but get a curve in the wrong place or the slash isn't the right size and you might just as easily end up making something that says... I fuck chickens like a dog!
I'm pretty sure that is the case with chinese, but I'm not sure about the other "writing of the orient".

You know what I hate? It seemed like every KZ and GS at the dragstrip used to have Kawasaki or Suzuki written on the tank in some sort of "Oriental looking" letters, but still written in English. I am sure it was clever on the first 2,000 bikes, but it got old after that.

Out of context? Of course I'd worry about that. After all, everybody know I fuck dogs like a chicken! Not the other way around!
