1394 kit from ape?
What do you guys think? Carrillo rods, J&E pistons and a stroked/nitrided crank. $2700.00

Oh, you were talking about the kit??? I dunno, maybe Doug Meyer would be better suited to answering that question. I'm sure it's a good setup though.

Why waste $1000 on Carrillo rods for a ZX12? Stock rods will hold 300rwhp.

As someone who has had a "300 hp stock rod" break at something less than 200 hp, I say go for the Carrillos.
A siezed up motor at 100+ mph is no fun.

If the A beam question is directed at me, I don't know, as I've only used the H beams. My bike is currently putting out apprx. 275 hp and I have had no rod problem as yet.

I ran all season last year with 282 hp on stock rods and never had a problem. You have to realize that dropping a valve can cause enuff pressure on the rods, when it hits the piston, to break it even with 180 hp. A team member broke 2 rods on one pass that way, but if eveything goes smoothly stock rods will hold 300 hp. no problem.

Carillos are stronger and lighter.I like not having to worry if the stock rods will fail or not.
Personally I like the H beam carillos over the I beam but they are both ligher than the stock rods. A beams are lighter than H but the H beams are stronger.

Good price. Does the kit come with a stroker plate?
What all do you have to grind, to slip that in? Does it
work the same for all models? 02 and up?

You just have to machine the starter gear a little if you use the carrillos with a stroker crank.
