B-Model (02-up) Fuel Pump Questions
First time poster, Long time lurker...
I'd like to come off by first saying this is an amazing source of knowledge and from what I can tell, a pretty cool crowd.
I've got a 2003 ZX12R that's been pretty much stock with only an akro/pc3r/bmc/lowered/strapped/muzzy dry 40 shot
it's a nice set-up and has performed well over the years. Made 215rwhp sae (dj250i) on the spray (#32 jet) so I can't complain. =)
Anyway, here's my questions... (yes, I used the search feature but came up with nothing)
1) I'm aware the B model fuel pumps flow more than the A model pumps... but how much rwhp is it good for before I need a bigger pump?
2) I was told that the Muzzy fuel pump isn't available for the 2002-up models because the B models have a non-return fuel pump. Is this true?
3) Who makes a higher flow fuel pump for the B model ZX12R?
4) Is there a way to get more fuel without upgrading the pump? I heard BEAR racing got up to 240rwhp out of a B model pump with modifications to the fuel rail.
I'm currently in the process of building a 235+rwhp ZX12R for Maxton and our local 9/10th mile ET races. Any help regarding these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance, gentlemen.

You can up the voltage on the stock pump while on the spray. Somebody (don't ask me to remember who) makes a solid state transformer and switching unit for just this purpose.
I bought one for the 2000 Bonneville bike but never used it. It's in the garage and I probably have the apperwork for it somewhere. Anybody remember?

Thank you very much for that info....
This leaves me with one problem though.... will a stock 2003 fuel pump be able to handle 235+rwhp PLUS the ram air at 200+mph?
That's what? 245-250rwhp in the real world at 200+mph?
Can a stock B model fuel pump supply that much fuel?
I know the Busa pump is good for around 215rwhp, not sure about the 12 B model.
