It's turbo time!!

Not for the 12 though.......
I spent alot of time trying to figure what to do to the 12 and I finally decided to just leave it alone and do something I've wanted to for a long time.

I bought a slick 2000 model ZRX1100 and it's gonna be a long term project bike. After lusting over ZRXDeans and Kcadbys, I figured a nice turbo ZRX would be the ticket.

I'll keep ya'll posted on the progress.

Dan

COOL!! I have run that through my mind quite a few times. Bid on a couple of Rex's on Ebay, just never one cheap enough for me to start on the turbo project.....

Cool............. that's gonna be kick ass Dan!!! I know you'll do it up right, so it's guaranteed to be a bad mofo when you're done with it.

Big Mike used to have a ZRX1100 and I always liked that bike, especially the looks of it. Fun in the tight stuff too. Another friend, Steve, bought a blue 1200 when they came out. I actually took it to the gap back in June of '03. It was a blast, and woulda probably been even more fun if it hadn't been bone stock. The brakes needed upgraded for my taste, and a full system for a little growl and maybe to let it make a few more ponies in the upper revs. I could wheelie the shit out of it, but if you weren't up on the balancing point by the time the tach hit 9 - 9.5k it'd drop like you shut the gas off. I still liked it a lot though.

Good luck with the project, keep us posted on the progress.

Here's a pic of 1200 I took to the Gap in '03.

Some of you will recognize the locale. The infamous cabins in Townsend. A few of you will recognize the Ol' Dodge too.(RIP) I snapped this pic while chillin' on the front porch, which is one of the main activites when you're staying there.

Oh yeah, and the reason I took the ZRX of Steve's instead of Lil' Red was because I'd hit a dog and the 12R had damage on the LH lower. I'd yet to settle up with the insurance and didn't want to take a gimped up bike over there. Steve had just recently bought the ZRX after being out of riding for almost 10 years. The bike had a little over 600 miles on it I think, and still had chicken strips on the tires.

The day after this pic was taken I changed all of that. It was thought it was super nice of Steve to loan me his new bike. Not many people would do that for a brother.

Today was the first chance I've had to ride the ZRX, If I didn't like my 12 so much I'd have another ZRX for my everyday bike.
All my bike needs is about twice the horsepower it has now. It rides good and handles alot better than I thought it would.
Thanks for the comments guys, I now understand why they have such a big following and their owners love the bikes.
