tab under crank sprocket
I removed the tab under the cam chain sprocket on the crank for ease of installation and disassembly.What was its original reason for being there?I didn't have any problems all last year,albeit a short one,just wondering if I made another screwup.

if so that has to be cut or ground off....... that will not be a problem... and you dont have to split your cases to remove your cam chain....

I popped it off with a large screwdriver and hammer.I was replacing my chain and no matter what I tried,I couldn't get the chain between the sprocket and the chain.It sure made the job easier but wasn't sure if it was for oiling or prevention of tooth skipping. thanx!

As long as it turns out to be harmless, that's a super discovery ya made there. With all you guys are teaching me, I should dive into mine sometime.
