Wow! On outpouring of help for lil' ole me?
Thanks... NO, seriously... thanks for the offer, but I must say two things...
1. I'm gonna "nip this one in the bud". It won't be necessay for any "assistance". I WILL be there and I will be staying at the Alcoa Holiday Inn Express (or what ever it's called this week)!
2. NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE should EVER have to suffer through the horrors of haveing ME as a "room mate". Even for ONE night. Not only do I have "habits" that would drive most folks insane (not counting smoking 2+ packs a day), but being someone's "room mate" would REALLY cut into my surfing of "adult oriented" websites. NO! I will NOT give you my passwords... I mean PASSWORD! I just go there for the "articles", anyway.
It's not like I have any expenses besides the room anyway. I'll be towing my trailer with the company truck ('91 Chevy PU) and it only will use gas that's paid for with the company gas card. Now if some of that gas "accidently" leaks into my two 5 gallon VP jugs... well, there's nothing I can do about that!
Meals and drinks ain't nothin', either. From what I understand, sodas can still be taken across state lines (HEY! Where did all the Mt. Dew for the office Coke machine go?). Plus, it is a PAID vacation.
Again, thank you VERY MUCH for the offer, but I can handle it.

Oh yeah...
... and if your ZRX hooligans are going to be at the Gap on Saturday again, I'm staying away like the PLAGUE! That the last thing I need is ANOTHER tape of me gettin' smoked (on the right hand side)! This time, it'd probably be something like a Pocket Bike or an EX250! Also, that insane scoccer mom (I KNOW it had to be Kyle Petty... I saw the BEARD!) will probably stuff me in the corner too!

My brother and I are both planning on making the trip. We still don't know if my wife (Sheryl) can make it.
I am planning on taking the old V-Max this time. My brother doesn't have a good bike, so he will have to bring his Busa.

This is excellent news, the dragon is a bit rough in places and could use resurfacing, but not while all of us wild ass indians are over there. I may have to go back in the fall again this year to check out the new surface. Well that's as good of an excuse as any.

It may be a fashion faux pas, but a couple of years ago I switched to polyester ski masks for boosts. They don't itch nearly as much. The downsides are the resulting "bad hair", and never take one off near gasoline or other flammable liquids, or work on electronics for 72 hours. The static electricity is murder (kind of cool in the dark, though).
I tried the pantyhose over the head thing, but I saw myself on the crimestoppers segment on the news once, and I just looked bad.

I'm staying as long as I can
I would like to go camp at TWO for a few days after DG-3. My job is iffy so if I'm on the soup line I can stay as long as I want.

Hey Bart,
I'll be there, at the Gap that is. I'll be riding a LOT more conservative than last time, maybe even slower than RedElk (at least that's the plan). Trying to decide on what dates to go. I'm off that week so it's pretty flexible for me.
Anyone else going early or staying later than that weekend ?

great news, the roads ar every nice. only one spot where ther eis gravel, about a quarter mile from the NC state line, tennessee side. some poor kid on a vfr found it....
otherwise was decent condition and nice and clear. warm as well. except for some rain everything was cool
lots of cops out tho, one state trooper about a mile from the overlook, camped out for a half hour or so. and right at the north end where it tapers out to flat (near lake) were 4 hanging out.
only 140 miles from front door to COT campground..*sigh* and back roads every bit of the way. sucks...
anyways just thought id give ya'll some recent news about the place, seeya later!

It's bad enough that the one dependable guy I had to ride with moves, but it's even worse when he grinds the salt into the wound. Bitching because it takes him an hour to get to the best roads on earth.
