You'll get to see that vincent. Not going to try and break any records , just going to go as fast as i can on a 500+ HP bike.

We went to bath england today. It was a very interesting city. We are staying about 16 miles from bath.

I know Vincent personally, am a friend of his, starting roadracing at about the time he was stopping, AND I am black. Plus I'm almost as old as he is. I know the times when the only black person at the track was me, or if I was lucky, Vincent was there also. He is NOT a racist. He is however, a product of the world he and I grew up in. I believe that if you're born and raised in America, you will have prejudices based on race. It's sewn into the fabric of the U.S.,and in many ways is so subtle that if you're not the recipient of the prejudices, you can't see it. If you haven't experienced it, you can't really know what it's like. "Walk a mile in my shoes" is appropriate here. You can't know what he's faced in his lifetime, and what he's had to overcome, to get to where he is today. I know, for I've seen it too. At our age, after coming through decades of first overt and then covert racism, we have to constantly "reteach" ourselves to trust and confide in people who were once our oppressers. To look past their race. It's not easy, but racers help a lot. The racing community is the best group of people I know. I don't experience racism at the racetrack; instead I am treated like family by other racers (who in my experience have been 99% white), and it's a damn good feeling. I've never posted here before, but felt a need to do so because I understand. If racers are your family, you want to share good news with them. If you're Black, and see another Black racer making strides, you want to share it with your family. If your family is White, so what? They're still family, and good news is good news. SO.........when I set that new Top Speed World Record, please understand that race will have something to do with that smile on my face because it's a first on two levels, and pride and ownership of that record can mean something to a lot of people. That's why Vincent spoke the way he did, pride.

Yes we are. I just sent you an e-mail about it. I talked to Michelle and she said hell yes. So we will have a bash. We're going out on the town friday night too. We'll go downtown and whoop it up, just don't wear them pick house shoes Rick, I don't know what the big city folk will make of that on a redneck. You might get your ass kicked.

Racer 924, it took a second (maybe 2) to figure out who your were . Like you say, Racers and even Sport Bike riders are another breed of person. The good news is they know what racism is but 99% of them have not and will not partake in it. What Otis "FINALLY" made me understand from his a lot of other people (s) view here is, that some things I say and do are fine if it was outside this community because they deserved it. But to punish or drag these people through it is like a Negative payment for them since they had and have no part in it. I think they also feel that reminding them of some things takes personal Joy and Spirit from the great people on this board. (When I say great, I am not referring to Harry because every picture I have seen of him he was giving the finger to someone not to mention owning a "BUSA" and touring around the Isle of Man (Great Post Card Thanks!! LMAO)

They get it and I get it. Knowing what you have and are still going through personally lets us both know that the "R" Problems are no farther away that the TV we watch every day. Hopefully we will end up the "Book ends" of the 200 MPH Club (If not the Center Piece )
