Getting my Forks done by GMD Computrack... I have been meaning to post this for a couple of days now but with the Boss Hoss deal going on, plus a ton of other shit I just forgot to do it.
I sent the forks off Wednesday to GMD Computrack in Atlanta, actually it's Clarkston, and will be getting them reworked. They are going to do their valve modifications which I've heard nothing but good things about, install heavier springs,polish the tubes, and put all new seals in them. Kent said they usually don't do "mail order" jobs but after I talked to him a bit he said he'd do it for me. I told him about all the good things I'd heard about their work, and also how impressed Harry was with his bike after they got ahold of it.
After I get my forks back he is going to help me with setting the bike up. I took measurements and stuff before I took the bike apart because I know my geometry will change after I get the modded forks back on. My front ride height will be different which I'm sure will change the attitude of the rear of the bike. I'll try and have it dialed in real good before the gap trip though, and am gonna hope that this is money well spent. One of the parts guys at Ron Ayers told me that he has heard nothing but good things about these guys and has ridden some bikes that were set up by them and was VERY impressed. I've abused the frontend of the bike since day one with all the wheelies and shit, it needed some attention, but I wasn't planning on doing anything until next year being that I just did a ton of other mods over the winter. But things don't always go as planned. ____________

Good news. Everyone I know of that's had the front works rewored, be it by GMD, RaceTech, or others, has been very happy with the improved feel / responsiveness. You'll have to let us know how you like them when you get them back!

I will.... swft I'll let everyone know what I think about them. I'm anxious to see just how much better they'll really be. These guys came highly recommended to me by Harry and a bunch of other people. They must be pretty damned good, they have shops all over the world.

Damn..... My bike has only been apart 4 days and I'm having fits. Damn I had just got it all back together!!!!! Oh well, I'm looking at probably being without it until the first week of April. But they say good things come to those who wait. I hope "They" are correct.

Kewl..... Harry that's great man, I know you're ready to ride the bike.
$400 is the cost on the forks, unless anything extra is deemed necessary. I'm figuring around $500 by the time I pay for shipping to and from Computrack, plus a couple of extra items. ____________
